David drew this picture of me when he was on his last deployment. He is now using this for one of classes. He is a good artist!

I am Frustrated
So awhile back I went and saw my Primary Care Manager(doctor). I was having some problems with my knee. I also wanted a referral to go see an OB/GYN. My PCM ending up saying she would write me two referrals, one for Physical Therapy for my knee and the other so I could go see an OB. With TriWest insurance I have to have a referral to go anywhere besides my PCM. So I waited for my referrals to be sent in so I could set up appointments. I got my letter from TriWest in the mail authorizing my PT. But no letter about the OB. I waited. A week went by since receiving my PT referral and still no letter about the OB. I called my PCM office and talked to one of the girls in the referral department. She ho hummed and said she would resend the request...did she send it in the first place? I really wonder the way she was ho humming around the whole thing that maybe she forgot! So I wait another week. Yesterday I got my letter for the OB in the mail :) FINALLY. The letter states that I have been referred to the Naval Medical Center for treatment. Also on the letter it states that if I choose to have services provided by a civilian doctor that I will be financially responsible. I was not very happy about only being allowed to go to the Naval Medical Center for treatment. They separate their patients into groups of colors. And if you are not an officer, an officers wife or are not having a pregnancy with issues you are in a insignificant color group. I personally feel that they discriminate! But thats just me. But nonetheless I am grateful to finally have approval to go see and OB. So today I call the Naval Medical Center OB clinic and am told by the girl who answers the phone that they have no record of an authorization on file for me. She tells me I need to call another clinic. So I am transferred to another clinic who also inform me that there is no authorization on file for me. So I call TriWest, by this time I am getting emotional. The representative I speak with assures me that I have authorization to be seen and a letter just like mine was sent to the clinic. She gives me another number to call. I hang up and call that number, I am then transferred to the first lady I spoke with she again tells me there is no letter even after I explain that I just got off the phone with TriWest. She transfers me to another lady who tells me the same thing. By this time I am crying. I explain to this lady that I feel like I am getting the run around and no one feels like its their job to find out whats going on so I can get an appointment. She puts me on hold. After five minutes of hold music she comes back on the phone and tells me that they received the letter but they sent it back to TriWest suggesting that I see a civilian provider! By this time I am so frustrated and emotional that I just listen. I tell her Thank you and hang up. I don't understand whats going on and have no idea when I will be able to get an appointment. I am almost to the point where I am going to go see a OB on my own and pay for it out of my pocket (actually David's pocket). I really just want to go see someone so I can figure out whats wrong and hopefully get the help I need so that David and I can have a baby! That's all I want is to be able to have a baby and no seems willing to help me!

Free Food and Birthday
Yesterday was a pretty good day. The day started off with my usual morning argument with Christy. After walking Christy to school I got a birthday call from Dad! :) Then I got a birthday text from mom. Sarah called and we visited for a while. I got a birthday card in the mail from Sarah on Monday. In the morning I went to the Armed Forces YMCA and picked up my two free boxes of food. This food was different from their usual once a month fill your bag with groceries. This was food from "Feed the Children" I also went to the library. I go at least once a week to the library. I miss having books from LDS authors available to me. After school I took Christy to her counseling appointment. David met us there as she was getting out of her appointment. Christy rode home with David. On the way home David called and said that we were going on a date at 6pm for my birthday dinner and that he had arranged a sitter for Christy. Now as you are reading this you are probably thinking "how sweet is David for arranging dinner and a sitter"?I guess Christy had mentioned to David that it was my birthday. At this point it was around 5pm. Now let me explain to you that this was the first mention of my birthday from both Christy and David. David was trying to play it off as a surprise, but guess what? He had forgotten that it was my birthday!!!! Now Amber says that it is our job to remind husbands of our birthdays and anniversaries. So I asked her if she has to remind Danni, of course she doesn't and I don't remember dad ever forgetting moms birthday or their anniversary. David has had a lot on his mind lately and has been kinda stressed. Don't worry I wasn't too upset that he forgot. We went to Olive Garden for dinner. It was so nice to have some alone time with David. After dinner we went to the grocery store to buy David a drink and get some cash to pay the sitter. We ended up getting me a Calla Lily :) A plant is so much better than flowers.

Sawp Meet, hair dye and Fun
This past weekend on Saturday we decided to go to Kobey's swap meet in Point Loma. We have been wanting to go for a while and finally it worked out. Since May is Military Appreciation month we all got in free. (saving us a whopping two dollars, but hey that's two dollars saved). I have never seen so much junk and so much treasure in one place. I say junk and treasure because of that saying "one mans junk is another mans treasure". There was lots of interesting stuff and people to gawk at :) I found a small dresser that would have been so much fun to sand and refinish. Sadly I did not buy it :( I wish I had, I would have enjoyed having a new project to work on. Oh well, maybe next time. Of course we had to have some yummy deep fried food while we were there as well. I am now on my 11th set of Invisalign aligners. I love that I can actually tell that my teeth are straightening. One downside is that as they are turning a cavity has been discovered. The problem with the cavity is that I am still trying to find a competent English speaking dentist here in our area. At least my cavity doesn't hurt and with my aligners in you can't see it. Saturday night David and I dyed my hair. My roots were badly showing. And being so poor I thought that I would try doing it myself. So I bought a box from the store. You should have seen David and I in the bathroom dying my hair. David actually did most of the work. I just laughed. It turned out better than I expected. But I don't think that this will become the norm. I like being pampered at the salon. Don't worry no drastic colors, I am just blonder than I have been for a while. Davids such a trooper!
We have been keeping busy! David finished his first mod at school and did well in both classes. Tonight starts mod two. Classes will now be on Monday and Wednesday nights. Duty days are hard on David. Today is a perfect example. The alarm goes close to five am. David gets up does the bathroom routine, eats breakfast and is usually out the door by 5:15. Last night I made sure that his bag was packed and all his uniforms were in the car. If this is not taken care of the night before there is a history of things being forgotten :) This morning David had to go to work in his PT's. Three days a week David had PT in the morning. So today he wore his PT's and had to take his cami's and his dress whites. So after PT David will shower, then wear his cami's for the rest of the day. And today being the 24th he has financial reports due at work. David will get home around four thirty if not later due to the reports (sometimes they take forever and if anything is wrong...oh boy) He will eat a quick dinner change and leave for his class that starts at 6pm. Class gets out at nine, David gets home around 9:15. He will then try to get a few hours of sleep before getting back up at 11pm and dressing in his whites for duty. He has the midnight to four am watch. He will get home around 4:30am and then guess what the alarm goes off at 5am. These are the worst days. David will be super tired and he will spend virtually no time with the family. I guess these are some of the sacrifices that we make so David can work and go to school so that I can be a stay at home mom. David gives so much up for his family. Yesterday David spoke in Sacrament meeting. He did an amazing job. I am so proud of him and love him so very much. Christy has been going to counseling two times a week. I have decided that we will be finding a new counselor. I am sensing that the one she currently sees is not helping her and his office is over on Coronado and I am not a fan of all the traffic and crossing the bridge so often. Mad Science is starting again in June and Christy is excited to go. Both Christy and Shadow are signed up for summer camp at Sea World. Today is a beautiful day. I am so grateful to our Heavenly Father for giving us this beautiful world to live on and our amazing families that he has given us for time and all eternity!

Lately
Last week Christy and I were in Utah. I went to work and Christy played with Crystal, Kayley and Michael. We had a pretty good week. Christy was doing an Independent Learning Contract for school. She was not very happy to be on vacation and still having to do homework. We both greatly missed home. Today I went on a baking spree. I made mints, strawberry dessert and lime squares. It always relaxes me too cook. I am sad that I came home to May Gray :( I want the sun! David is finishing his first two classes this week. He has been working hard. Next week the next two classes start. Monday and Wednesday nights David will be in class.

Tecolote Canyon
As a family we went to Tecolote Canyon in the late afternoon. It was very peaceful and beautiful. Too bad the battery on my camera was dead. We saw lots of stinkbugs. Earlier in the day our ward had helped clean up part of the trail in conjunction with helping hands across the state. It really was a beautiful place and it wasn't too far from home.

Cabrillo National Monument
Saturday was a beautiful day. First stop of the day was the library. Then we decided to take a break from our usual bike riding and went to Cabrillo. Cabrillo is not too far from our house and a seven day pass is only five dollars. We hiked the Bayview trail and then headed to the tide pools. Is was so pretty and there was only a little wind. While we were at the tide pools we saw a seal not to far out in the water. There were many sail boats for us too watch as well. After Cabrillo we headed to the temple. We walked around and enjoyed the flowers and stopped in the distribution center. After that we went to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner. We had a great day. I am so grateful that we live here in such a beautiful place with so many outdoor adventures so close.
