Another mini vacation...this time to Enterprise

Thursday David let me know that all of his command had Friday off for going so many days without any ARI's (alcohol related incidents). This meant a four day weekend for David. We had originally planned to spend Saturday in Northern California. David and Christy were going to go to Universal Studios and I was going to spend the day with Wendy. But we decided that we had enough time that we should go see David's family. Friday morning after muster (roll call) we headed for Utah. We took Christy out of school for the day. Here are some great things we did:
* We went to the Enterprise cemetery and put flowers on the Bushar's and the Fish's graves for Memorial Day.

* Saturday morning we went to the Temple with mom and dad and David's parents.
Alisha's babysitter was kind enough to watch Christy :)

* Lunch at Olive Garden

* Went to the Enterprise Reservoir.
There was a lot of water. This was my first time there.
* Went on four wheeler rides.

I think my helmeted head is bigger than my belly.

* Church with Bushars.

* Sleeping on the tramp Friday night. We only lasted till 1:30am that was when the wind picked up.

*Going to see the cows.

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day! Thanks to all those who have served or now serve our country. We had a great weekend. It took us nine hours to get home because we stopped for gas, stopped for lunch and in Barstow we stopped at the Gymboree outlet and I bought some cute stuff for the baby. I am so glad to be home. It is getting harder for me to ride in the car for that long and we still have one more trip to Utah to make before the baby comes.
I am 31 weeks along. Last night we cleaned out the extra closet in our room so we could put all the babies stuff in there. We keep going back and forth on whether he will sleep in our room or the guest room. If we were staying in the Navy we would be asking to move into a four bedroom house.

Mini Vacation in St. George

Last Wednesday when Christy got out of school her and I headed to St. George. We had a great time.
Here is a list of things that made the vacation great, in no particular order:

* Getting a pedicure. It was so nice to go be pampered and my toes look fabulous :)

* Getting some new maternity clothes.

* Having lunch with all the girls at ZIO. I miss working there.

* Getting all the baby stuff out :) This is what my collection of diapers and wipes look like. I have 203 newborn diapers.

* Having a baby shower at my Aunt Marie's house. We played this game where each person had a napkin and with the napkin behind their back they were to make a baby. This was Aliese's baby and my choice for the winner. How anyone could do that with their hands behind their back confounds me :)
* Hanging out with mom and dad and asking them about when mom was pregnant with me. Dad got out his briefcase and we looked at old pictures and newspaper clippings. In the picture above is a picture of my family that my Aunt Peaches made. I think my dad needs to frame it and hang it up in the house. Just so all you siblings know I speak for this when mom and dad are gone.

* Having a conversation with Kayley:
Kayley: Becca, what did you eat to make your belly so big?
Me: Cause there is a baby in there
Kayley: But what did you eat to make it so big?
I love little kids. Good thing she is only three and didn't ask any more in depth.

* Arriving home and seeing my husband :)

That was a little about my mini vacation.

28 weeks 2 days

Here I am at 28 weeks and 2 days. I feel like I am bigger than I was at nine months with Christy. I have gained more weight than I wanted to and I still have two and a half months to go.

Temple

David and I have been going thru the process of getting clearance from the First Presidency to be sealed. It has taken time and has not been easy. We had to meet with the Bishop and Stake President. Tasha (David's ex wife) had to be given an opportunity to write a letter. David, our Bishop and Stake President all had to write letters as well. All the paperwork was submitted to the First Presidency a few weeks ago. Last night David and I met with our Bishop. We both walked away from the meeting with heavy hearts and tears in our eyes. The First Presidency has asked us to wait a year. It was so hard for me to hear this. Both David and I wanted so badly to be sealed as a family and have our future children born under the covenant. We also walked away from our meeting with a great desire to improve ourselves individually and as a couple in the year to come. The Bishop promised us some wonderful blessings that will come as we go thru this year. I know that when the time comes that we are sealed in the Temple that it will be the right time, the Lord's time, and that it will be one of the most important events in our lives. I know that this coming year will not be easy. In the few months that we have been going thru this process I was greatly tempted and tried. I grew depressed and went thru some really hard times. But as the Bishop has told me before that as many devils are throwing stones at me there are hundreds more Angels standing with me to bear me up. I am so grateful to my parents and the way that they raised me. I can draw great strength from their teachings. They are a great example to me of the things that I want for myself in this life. I also am eternally grateful to David. We have been thru so much as a couple. I know that life is full of boulders, hills and mountains that we must conquer, and I know that with David by my side I can and will conquer them.

Baby Shower Invitation

I just love my Aunt Marie! A little while ago she asked if she could give me a baby shower for this baby. Here is the way cute invitation that she made! I just love it. It totally fits with the theme for our baby. My Aunt Marie also gave me a baby shower when I was pregnant with Christy.

Thanks Aunt Marie!
