Jammin it out!

I have always loved Jalapeno Jelly. It seems that every Beasley Family Reunion there are a few bottles for sale in the auction. I have never been able to end up with one. I decided that I would try making my own. I am sure that growing up I helped make jelly but have never attempted it on my own. Today I decided to be brave. At the food exchange today I got 12 6oz packages of fresh raspberries so I decided to make Raspberry Jalapeno Jelly. Here is a picture of the finished product. I am sure at this point mom and dad are tired of me calling and asking so many questions about the process. I am still quite worried that it will not set up right. It seems runny enough to be syrup at this point. Maybe it will taste good no matter how thick or thin it turns out to be. I think I will need to take mom and dad some for all their help :)

Food Exchange

Today at the food exchange I got four cantaloupes, two bags of corn on the cob, two bags of very large green peppers, spaghetti sauce, applesauce, pears, tomato soup, tuna, raisins, spaghetti, powdered egg, and 12 cartons of fresh raspberries. Some of the produce we gave away but most of it we kept and ate. I made cantaloupe soup that only David ate. We are not big on cantaloupe in our house. I love food exchange days! :)

Achievement Days

Christy and Shadow after swimming.
Tonight for Achievement Days the girls got to go swimming. One of the families from the other ward have a pool in their backyard. The girls had a great time swimming. Shadow got to go with us to this one because dad has school and as I am one of the leaders I have to go and I couldn't leave her home.

Beasley Family Reunion

These pictures all turned out really fuzzy. Sorry I'm not sure what happened. We had such a great time at the reunion. Before we left we took some pictures.
The Waddell Family
Sarah and her family
It was especially nice to see Sarah and her family. It has been years since I have seen them. Sarah has changed a lot. When she lived at home I remember that we used to go hang out in her room and eat candy. She always seemed to have some stashed in her cedar chest. After Sarah turned 18 she moved out of the house and since that point has moved around a lot and hasn't spent a whole lot of time with the family. I asked her a couple of times if she was going to go to church with the family on Sunday but she politely refused. I think that I should send her a Book of Mormon. Sarah is going back to school in nursing. She turned out to be a pretty good mom too! Love you Sarah :)
This is our family. I hate how I look in pictures! After four days with lots of family we were more than ready to go home. We had a great time and we look forward to the next reunion.
Our family with Grandma and Grandpa Beasley. This was the first time Shadow and David had met my grandparents. I have so many wonderful memories with them. They are amazing grandparents.
