Military appreciation.

Lately there have been a lot of activities for military families. Chik Fil A had a military appreciation night. So Christy and I decided to go. They had a bounce house, face painting, bean bag toss and live entertainment. They also had drawings. We had to wait an hour in line for our free dinner, but it was worth it. I won a $25 gift card to Target. Christy had fun and saw a few of her friends there. And the dinner was yummy.
Then another activity that we attended was at a baptist church. It was on a Saturday. Christy, Jada, Jennifer and I drove to La Mesa ( I had never been to La Mesa before). There was a rock climbing wall, bounce house, cake walk, face painting, balloon animals, puppet shows, giveaways and crafts for the kids. There was free lunch of hot dogs, chips, cotton candy, popcorn and snow cones. We ate alot and had so much fun. It was really nice for Christy to have a friend with her.
I met a really nice lady whose husband is in the Marines and right now he is on his fifth deployment. She has three kids. It was nice for me to talk to her and get some of her ideas and learn some of the things that she has gone through.
This Monday Christy and I went to Disneyland for my birthday. We had a good time.
This time with David gone has been extra hard for me and I'm not sure why. I just feel more depressed and I have missed him a lot more. I am so glad that when he comes home that he has two weeks of leave.

Mothers Day and other stuff.

I had a really good Mothers day weekend. Friday David got off work around 10:30 he stopped on his way home and got me these flowers. Stargazer lilies are my all time favorite flowers. David took me to lunch at California Pizza Kitchen (my new favorite restaurant). It was so nice just the two of us. Then when Christy got home from school we asked Jada's (her friend) mom if Christy could spend the afternoon there and have a sleepover? She said yes! So off David and I went to Disneyland. Out of all the times we have gone recently this was the first time by ourselves. No kids. Awesome!!!! It was so nice to spend the whole day with David!

Saturday David made me breakfast in bed. He took care of everything around the house the whole weekend. We went to two movies on Saturday. It was such a good weekend. David is so good to me. He tried so hard to make sure everything was perfect.
Monday morning Christy and I drove David to work. He will be gone till the 5th or 6th of June. I miss him terribly when he is gone!
Out Civic is fixed and it looks kinda funny. The back driver side door was replaced. It's brand new and all shiny and it clashes horribly with the rest of my car. Oh well at least its fixed.
I went to Food 4 Less yesterday and can I just say I had forgotten how much I love that store. I used to go all the time when I lived in Northern Utah but yesterday was my first time going to the one here. I love it! It has that warehouse atmosphere and some things are so much cheaper than the grocery store. I stocked up on toilet paper and I bought mom and dad a case too.
It has been really warm here. Yesterday Christy and I spent two hours at the pool. I am looking forward to this weekend as Christy and I are heading to St. George.

Minnies Moonlight Funkadelic Madness 2009

They have this charity scavenger hunt every year at Disneyland. This year Wendy signed up to have a team. There are four people to a team. Wendy was our team lead and there was Tammy, Salina and I. Wednesday Christy and I drove to Anaheim. When Salina and Tammy got there the four of us left for dinner. Connie and Terry were so awesome and volunteered to watch Christy and Salina's kids so we could go and have a good time. We had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. After dinner we headed to Disneyland. It was a different experience because they were closing the park so the majority of people were leaving, and all the teams for the scavenger hunt were heading into the park. We met in the arena by the BBQ and had instructions and took a quiz. They also presented a check for $8000 to the charity. After the instructions phase we left the arena, as soon as we left the arena we had to be clipped together. We had to stay clipped together the whole time except for special clues that we had to solve. We had ten easy clues and two hours to finish. It was a lot of back and forth across the park. At one point Salina had to be a donkey and kick a paper football (that she made) across the goal posts (Wendy and I) all well braying like a donkey. Then at another clue I had to be blindfolded and put together a Star Wars Potato head. I did it pretty fast, and to be honest the blindfold was not all that great ( I could kinda see thru it). We finished all ten clues with five or ten minutes to spare. After the hunt we all went to Tammy's house to spend the night. We all slept in and then when we finally got up we went to breakfast at The Original Pancake restaurant. Yummy!! Then we went shopping. We finally made it back to Connie and Terrys house around three. Then Christy and I headed home. I had such an amazing time and I am so grateful to Connie and Terry for watching Christy and giving me a break. I am so grateful to have such amazing cousins that are like sisters to me.

Update

I haven't posted in awhile. And sorry no pictures this time. Christy finally went back to school on Monday after being off all of April. David is home right now for a few more days. He leaves on Monday and he will be gone till June 6th(at least as the schedule is now). Luckily when he gets back he gets two weeks of leave so that we can spend time together before he leaves for deployment. We are all finally well at our house. The Civic finally went into the shop to get fixed, we were told it would take roughly four days. I guess that's all, not much exciting happening right now.
