Catch up Post

I haven't taken the time lately to blog. So here goes and it might be a little long.

Friday the 27th David, Christy and I went to Disneyland. David got home early, they were scheduled to come home on Friday but Thursday afternoon he came home, and what was even better then him coming home early was that he had a four day weekend. So Friday morning we got up early and drove to Anaheim. We picked Wendy up and off to Disneyland we went. Wendy being the most awesome gal that she is got David into the park. We had a really good day. It was nice to spend the day together and just relax and have fun. The longest line was for Space mountain and that was the last ride we did. All the other lines went fairly quickly.
David and Christy on the tea pots. I do not ride the tea pots because I got sick. So David was a trooper and went with Christy.

Christy on the carousel.
David and I. Christy is getting old enough that most of the rides we went on she wanted to sit all by herself. I enjoyed that because then I get to sit with David. By the end of the day we were all tired and ready to go home.

I made these cards. Michael's is one of my new favorite stores, and whats really great is every week I get their ad and there is always a 40% off coupon. So I wait for the coupons and buy one thing each week. So cool.

On Wednesday the 25th the two second grade classes from Dewey Elementary went to Sea World. A few weeks ago the school sent home the permission slips and I signed for Christy to go and I also signed us a volunteer to go. Well come Tuesday afternoon still no word from Ms. Alan Christy's teacher as to whether or not I was one of the parents selected to go. And of course Christy had a substitute Tuesday. So Christy and I walked back to the school and I went to the office to see if they knew. No one in the office had any clue about what was going on regarding the field trip. Wednesday I told Christy that if Ms. Alan needed me to come that she could call me. So 8:30 comes around and the school calls and tells me that Ms. Alan said that I could go. So I hurried and packed a bag with some treats and some water and my camera, and off to school I go. Now let me just say that I was very excited to go on this field trip. I have never before had the chance to accompany Christy on a field trip. Well lets just say that after this field trip I am no longer anxious to attend field trips as long as Christy attends Dewey Elementary. When I got to school Ms. Alan asked which kids needed a lunch. Now I the assuming mother that I am(also having received no further communication regarding the field trip) thought that the school would provide sack lunches for the kids. Especially since the majority of Christy's class receive free lunch. No, I had not packed a lunch for Christy or myself! I told Christy not to raise her hand because I would just buy myself and her lunch there. So after the whole lunch issue we headed out to catch the bus. But not the school bus the CITY bus. Two second grade classes walked three blocks down a major street and crossed two of the busiest intersections and then walked two more blocks to get on the city bus to go to Sea World. We arrived at Sea World at 10:40 missing the special dolphin presentation they put on just for the elementary kids. There was no organization throughout the whole day. Kids were always lagging behind and Ms. Alan never took notice. It was up to us moms that went along to make sure all the class was together. The whole time we were there the kids saw the sharks, the penguins, the dolphins and we went on the Wild Artic ride. That is all the kids in Ms. Alans class got to do. Talk about disappointment.
Here is Christy at the sea star pond. She was brave enough to pick up the sea stars.

Christys class minus three kids. Two of the girls were off doing their own thing, of course Ms. Alan had no clue that they were not with the class. And there is one boy who did not get to attend the field trip.

Saturday David, Christy and I headed to the beach. It was really warm Saturday. We had a picnic lunch on the beach and while Christy played in the water David and I tanned. The picture above is actually from a few weeks ago when we went to the beach with Alisha.

USS Nimitz Family Day Cruise

This past Saturday we had the chance to attend the USS Nimitz family day cruise. We boarded the ship a little after six. There was breakfast available for us. There was a variety of donuts, fruit and juice. We got breakfast and then went with David to muster(check in). After that we went to Davids storeroom and he did a little work. Then while Christy was playing with LPO Sanches' daughter in the bounce houses David and I went up to the flight deck to watch as we pulled out of port. A little later we waited in line almost an hour for lunch. There was hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, fruit, veggies and drinks. Also some good chocolate cake that had really nasty frosting. Then they had an air show up on the flight deck. It was kinda cold. After that David worked a little more while Christy got her face painted and played. We had a really good and long day. It was nice to be able to spend the whole day with David.
A picture right outside Davids storeroom.

Pulling back into port.

Part of the air show. As we all know my camera is not the best so sorry for the poor quality pictures.

Here you can see ammo being shot out from the jet. We got to see a jet do a touch down and take off and a jet that did a landing and then took off.

David and Christy up on the flight deck.

Me on the flight deck, it was really windy and cold.

David and I outside his storeroom. Thanks to LPO Valadez for taking this picture,

Looking up from the elevator that normally takes jets from the flight deck to the hanger bay. They opened up two of the elevators to transport people.
We had such a good time. It was a long day but I am so glad that we went. Most likely we will not ever be able to do this again.

Munoz Visit

Alisha, Rodolfo, Michael and Kayley came to our house for a visit. We were so excited to have them come stay with us. They got to our house Sunday evening and went home Wednesday morning. They spent Monday in Legoland, Tuesday we spent time on base, bowling and at the beach. Thanks for coming to visit us.

Christy and Kayley watching the bowling balls. Christy and Michael both had this thing where they could not share a ball.

Kayley watching the PSP.
Alisha playing horse for Kayley. Kayley is the absolute cutest thing. When they first got to our house she spent a good half hour going up and down the stairs. And Kayley even helps clean. I gave her the dish rag and she washed the table and then as she wandered towards the stairs she was washing as she was going.

Primary, Beach, Old Town

On Saturday our ward had a primary activity. We all went to the temple and listened to the Sister Missionaries and then a picture was taken of all the kids. Then they went to the beach for lunch. Now this picture is not all the primary kids. Only one little boy from my class of eight showed up. Christy and I did not go to the beach for lunch because David came home.

Christy, Crystal and I at the beach. It was cold outside but we all really wanted to go. We had so much fun getting wet and finding shells. Christy was freezing. I picked her up early from school so we could go and I had a change of clothes in the car but because I forgot a belt she refused to change.

Christy and I in the wagon at Old Town. Christy loves to climb up in the wagon. You should have seen my fat butt trying to get up there for the picture. I had to crawl under the bench. We had a good time in Old Town.

Bowling

Somehow this picture got on here twice and I'm not sure how to remove it.

Yesterday we all decided to go to base and go bowling. Christy did not want to go but in the end she had so much fun.

Busy and loving it.

We have been keeping busy lately. Last week we went and saw Inkheart and Paul Blart Mall cop, both movies that Christy enjoyed. Last Saturday we went to Disneyland. So much fun. Saturday evening Crystal and her friend Amy got here. Sunday was church and then after church Jennifer came over and we cooked and played card games. Yesterday we went to Disneyland. So much fun once again. And when Wendy got off work she came and hung out in the park with us. Thanks Wendy for getting Crystal and Amy into the park. We got home around midnight last night. Then this morning back to the routine. Crystal and Amy are staying till Friday. We are so excited that they are here. We love having guests. Next week Alisha and her family will be here. Well I will post some pictures later. David is scheduled to come home on Saturday. I can't wait. This is the longest we have been apart since being married. I love staying at home and being able to really take care of all of my families needs. I appreciate David so much for all he does to make this possible. Well off to more adventures.

Family Pictures

I finally got the 16x20 family picture. I hung them on the wall. I am proud of myself cause I did this without any help. They're not crooked, it just looks that way in the picture.

Scrapbooking

I am not by any means creative or artsy. I hardly ever scrapbook. I was at Michael's yesterday and saw this kit. It had everything you need to create this 8x8 scrapbook. All I had to supply was the glue and the pictures. So here is the finished product.
Very simple album.

You can kinda see the pages.

This was my dining room while I was working on the scrapbook. I have two Rubbermaid bins full of scrapbook and art supplies but I hardly ever use them.
