Catching Up

I seem to forget about this blog. So here goes a quick disjointed run down of what has been going on lately.
Our days have been filled with taking walks and feeding and caring for Treyven. He is growing so quickly. He weighed 9 pounds 11 ounces at his appointment on the 22. He is no longer wearing newborn diapers.
Christy had a great time in North Dakota. She met lots of relatives on her dads side. Hopefully she will not have to wait another 10 years to go back. Christy starts school on September 6.
We will be blessing Treyven here in San Diego on September 4.
In Sacrament meeting on Sunday the counselor that was conducting requested that us parents with young ones need to take our children out when they start crying because people have been having a hard time hearing the speakers. I am glad they said this. We have a few mothers in our ward that just sit there and let their babies scream and it makes it so no one around them can hear. We watch where we sit each Sunday so as to not be by these people.
We only have a little over two months before David starts terminal leave and we move to St. George. Time seems to be flying by. There is so much that we need to do before that time. We have been enjoying the weather a lot. It has cooled off a little so most days it stays right around 80 degrees. We try to take a walk each evening as a family. It feels good to get out of the house and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
I think that's all. We are looking forward to seeing family over Labor Day weekend.
I tried to get a picture while he was holding his head up. He was moving so it's a fuzzy picture.
The little guy on a walk. He gets tired of laying in the stroller and like to be held so he can see everything around him. It might be wise for me to buy a baby thing that straps around me that he can sit in on walks.

Our days

We have been so busy loving on our little guy. I started a 365 blog for him. At the end of the year I will print it out and then he will have his whole first year journal in a book. We love the little guy to pieces. He is the cutest baby. He is a pretty good baby too. He usually gets up three times during the night to eat and have his diaper changed. During the day he still sleeps a lot. He gets kinda fussy after he eats. David had almost two weeks off of work after I had the baby. It was so nice to have him here to help out. Mom came and stayed for a little while too and that was really nice. The little guy has been growing, he has already outgrown a few newborn clothing items. David went back to work yesterday and Christy flew to Slat Lake City and then on to Bismarck North Dakota to spend a week with Grandma Cosgrove and her family. So all next week it will just be the little guy and me at home during the day. I will have to find things to keep me busy while he sleeps.
We took some pictures with our rings on his little feet.
Dad got a picture of the little guy and me napping on the couch today.
He gets some of the funniest looks on his face. He has a double chin but he is so damn cute!

The little guy is finally here.

Saturday July 30th was a busy day for our family. In the morning David had duty muster. He got home around 8am. We had breakfast then David took some maternity pictures of me. After that we headed to the park by the office in our housing for a food distribution. While standing in line I had a few contractions. David had a watch from 11:30 to 3:30. I started having contractions at 3:45pm. I started keeping track of how often I was having them. They never did become regular. David got home from watch around 4. At 4:30 my water broke. We loaded the girls into the car and headed to the hospital. When we got to the hospital we went to the labor and delivery floor. I was placed in a triage room and when the nurse checked me I was dilated to a 9. They brought in a gurney and transferred me to the gurney then took me to a delivery room. I had to transfer from the gurney onto the delivery bed. The anesthesiologist came in to try and give me a spinal block. I was having contractions so often that I couldn't/wouldn't get into position so I was not able to get any pain medication. I started pushing right away. I was not a very happy pregnant lady. I was screaming and hollering at the doctors. They tried to turn Treyven because he was face up. I guess delivery is faster and less painful if the baby is face down. I had to wear an oxygen mask because I wasn't breathing enough. The nurses kept telling me that I needed to calm down and breath. All the doctors and nurses were making me mad. I felt like everyone was giving me different instructions at the same time and all I could think about was how much pain and pressure I was having. Treyven was born at 6:19pm. Dr. Eric Rice delivered him. He weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces. He has lots of brown hair. The doctor placed Treyven on my chest and then David cut the cord. David and I both cried when he was born. We were both so glad that he was finally here and we couldn't believe how perfect he is. Later when the nurse was cleaning him up it was noticed that he has a hemangioma on his left lower buttock. That is the only birthmark that we have found. Around 8:30 we were moved to a postpartum room. The girls were so excited to see him and hold him. Treyven slept most of the night. The nurse came and got him once for some blood work. I didn't sleep very much, I stayed awake and watched him sleep. David spent Saturday night in the hospital room with us. Sunday we spent the day in our hospital room. Monday morning I went to a breast feeding class and Treyven had his circumcision. At 1:11pm Monday we were discharged. We are so excited that Treyven is here, we all love him to pieces. He is the cutest newborn in the whole world!!
Treyven and I Saturday evening in our room.
What a cute little guy.
All dressed up for church in the outfit that Treyven's bestest Aunt Amber made.
At the bowling alley.

Heavenly Father has blessed our family with this sweet little spirit. We love him so much and we are so grateful for how smooth the pregnancy went and how fast the delivery was.
