A little excitement.

It always seems like there is so much going on in our lives. Last night we went in and met with our new bishop. Bishop Beesley. There were a few things that David and I needed to discuss with him. First on the agenda was Christy's baptism. Yes I know she will be nine in June and she has not been baptized yet. It just seemed like when she turned 8 there was so much going on with getting ready for David's deployment and then we were going to do it when the Waddells were in St. George but David was still gone. We finally have picked a date and most of the arrangements have been made. The baptism is set for Saturday March 27th in St. George. The second thing on the agenda to discuss was David and I getting sealed. When we got married we did it in a courthouse in St. George. We wanted our sealing to be a big deal so the legal ceremony was just a quick lets get it done kinda thing. We started the process last night with the Bishop. We are hoping that we will get clearance within the next few months. We want to be sealed in the San Diego Temple on June 11th our second anniversary. Then we plan on going on a honeymoon :)
Today Christy started Mad Science Club after school. She was way excited to be able to go. Looking over the information for the club I think she will have a great time. We are also hoping to get Christy signed up for some kind of sport. She wants tennis or ice hockey. I need to see what the YMCA is offering. We are also hoping to get Christy back into counseling the first part of March. She does so much better when she is able to go.
No baby news this month :( We will keep trying. Back to the doctor I go for that. I also need to go the doctor about my left hand. I have noticed since we moved that my pinky and half my ring finger as well as my palm are numb 80% of the time. I am pretty sure that it is Carpal Tunnel, just what I need. I have started noticing that my teeth are looking a little different. I have been wearing the Invisalign for nine weeks.
David is busy falling into the routine of his new duty station. It has been crazy trying to get all the new uniforms that he needs as well as new tags and updating everything. I think that this duty station is turning out to be a great one. David has really good chiefs and he is one of the highest ranking in his squadron.
Life is great! We are really looking forward to all the upcoming events!

LMH rules and regulations state....

When we were preparing to move out of our Gateway home last August I was given a four or five page list of things that needed to be clean before we moved or we would be charged for each item. On the list were the outside garbage bin and the recycling bin. The charge for each if not cleaned was $35. There was no way I was going to clean them. I was just going to pay the fee, but I have the worlds best dad. He cleaned both of the bins inside and out for me, and guess what? When the housing lady came to check out the house and clear me to leave she didn't even check the bins. Poor dad did all that nasty work for nothing. All this being said when we moved into Serra Mesa I figured that whoever moved out was given the same cleaning list and had done the same things that I had done. I also figured that if the previous occupants had not done everything on the list that surely the LMH cleaning staff had taken care of it. WRONG!!!! We moved into the dirtiest house. I had so much cleaning that I had to do. I was so disappointed. Of course I noted my displeasure on the move in sheet I was required to fill out.
Now onto the above picture. Yes that is David, Christy and Shadow cleaning the outside trash bin. I have been literally afraid to touch the trash bin with bare flesh due to the disgusting nature that it was found by us in. Last night I noticed paint that had been peeled off some surface in the house and discarded by the stairs. So I went on a mission to find who had peeled the paint and where it had been peeled from. Both of the girls were the culprits. Christy's spot of peeling is in her room by her bed, and Shadows choice for peeling is the master bedroom door frame. So I left it up to David to decide on a fitting punishment. David decided that the girls could clean the trash bin. Before the girls did their part David emptied the bin and brushed and hosed it off. Then he gave each girl a scrub brush and he had control of the hose. It ended up being more of a game then a chore. The girls had a fun time playing in the water, and now I have a clean trash can!

Our Home

Finally here are pictures of our home in Serra Mesa. We really like it! Enjoy! Part of my Valentines presents. These are actually the third set of couches that David and I looked at and they were our favorite. We got them on sale and we paid no tax :) I love them!!!
My picture wall in the front room. On the left you see our family picture. The largest picture on the right is of the San Diego Temple. This was a Christmas gift from mom and poppa Beasley. David and I hope to be sealed in the San Diego Temple. The two off to the left are both of the St. George Temple and they were both taken by Kellee Hindes. The picture on the right is also from Kellee Hindes. I can't wait to add more pictures to what I think will be my favorite wall in the house.
In the master bedroom, looking into the bathroom. There is a vanity counter behind the door.
The walk in closet(Rebecca's closet) in the master bedroom, the closed door on the right of the tv is a small closet (David's closet).
Looking from the master into the hall. Giving a better view of the computer area.
The master bedroom.
This is Shadows room. On the left wall is her cork board that we made for her.

This is standing in the hall looking onto Shadows room on the right and Christy's room on the left. I couldn't get a picture of Christy's room to load on here.

This is the computer desk at the top of the stairs. The open door leads into the master bedroom and the closed door is a small hall closet.

Looking from the back door into the kitchen and dining area. We have more cupboards in this house. I still have not filled them all. Also in this house we have linoleum in the dining room instead of carpet.

Looking from the reading area into the kitchen and dining room. Off to the left is the laundry room with a very nice storage area, a hall closet and a half bath.

The view from the front door. Looking into the living room and reading area.

Our house is two stories with three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. We have a pretty big laundry room with built in shelves that provide a lot of storage. We have a small back patio and a two car garage with more storage shelves. We have a brand new washer, dryer and dishwasher. The carpet in this house is a charcoal grey color. So much better than the light brown we had in Gateway. It finally feels like home now that all the pictures are hung and the house is clean. When we moved in the house was quite dirty and we had spiders and ants all over. Now that I've taken care of all that it's much better.

Happy Birthday Shadow

Shadow got to come stay with us over Presidents Day weekend. Her birthday is on the 25th but she will be in Vegas then so we decided to celebrate her birthday this weekend. She wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese for her birthday dinner. We had a good time at Chuck E Cheese. After dinner we came home and had cake and opened presents.

Shadow with her stack of presents. She got an ICarly jacket and a jean purse from Grandma Bushar. Christy gave her the fairy named Fawn doll. Dad and I got her a Fancy Nancy book, Fancy Nancy slippers and bracelet and The Princess and the Frog DS game. She also got a cork board that she helped me decorate for her room.
Shadow wanted a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.

I copied Amber and bought some balloons that David blew up and we put in Shadows room. We also hung the banner over her closet door.
We were so happy that we got to celebrate her birthday and spoil her for the weekend. Shadow we love you and Happy Birthday!!!

Weekend in St. George

Last Friday after David got home from work and Christy got out of school we started our long drive to St. George. We stopped in Vegas and picked up Shadow. We got to St. George late. Saturday was Michael's baptism. We got all dressed up and just made it. We had some issues getting ready. After the baptism David and I went to the temple with Dean and Ann. It was really nice to have Crystal watch the girls so we could go. Saturday evening Alisha had a get together at her house. We ate dinner and played games. It was fun. Sunday we went to church with mom and dad. Please take notice of how my girls are dressed in the picture. Usually I have them in fancy dresses. No more! The girls can't keep their hands off the decorations on the dresses, so from now on they will not be able to wear them. Two Sundays ago Christy wore a pink dress with a band of jewels on the front. By the end of church all the jewels were off. And that's not the only time. It seems that every time wither Christy or Shadow wear a fancy dress, after church something is amiss or missing from the dress. I threatened Christy with having to wear a garbage bag to church, but as you can see that didn't happened. It would embarrass me more than Christy. After church we ate a quick lunch and headed out. We stopped in Overton for a little visit. The girls had fun playing with Alexa and Emma and I got to visit with Salina. We spent about an hour there. Then we headed to Vegas to drop off Shadow. Then we headed home.
Monday Shadow got in a fight at school. I guess two girls were picking on her so she hauled off and hit them and then I guess she yelled at her teacher. The school wanted to kick her out but somehow she was allowed to go back today. The sad thing is this happened Monday and David was not informed of this until Tuesday. Why no call was made when it happened is beyond me.
I am still waiting for my new couch to post pictures of my house. Soon!! Hopefully I will get my couch this weekend! We are all adjusting quite well to living here in Serra Mesa.

Things I like about living in Serra Mesa....So far.

I love the layout of our house. I know I have yet to post pictures. I am waiting till we get our couch and I get all the pictures hung. We have tons of storage and only two floors :)
I like that there are two closets in the master bedroom, one for me (the walk in) and one for David (a regular closet).
I really like having free wireless Internet. We had the same thing at Gateway but it never seemed to work on our computer.
I like that our garage opens to a play area. Its so nice that I can go sit on a bench and read while Christy rides her bike. The really great thing is that on three sides of the play area are garages and the fourth side is an alleyway so no worries about traffic :)
I like that Christy's school is half a mile away and that Christy has to cross a major road to get to school. It makes me get up every morning and walk her to school and I also have to go get her in the afternoon.
I like that her school starts at 7:30am, let me explain this one because at first I was not to happy about this fact. We leave the house anytime between 6:55 and 7:10. I walk Christy to school and its quiet outside and its nice. Not to cool. After I drop her off I go walk. There is no point in me just going back home, so I walk. It is so nice. I walk around our village (which is alot bigger than Gateway) and enjoy the birds and the quiet. It takes me about an hour to get home. Maybe I will lose some weight :)
I like the variety of homes in our village. Gateway only had a few variations, here there are many.
I like that there are many play areas and that they are quite large play areas.
I like that there are no bums in this area. There are so many in Point Loma.
I enjoy that this area really is quite a nice area.
I really like that we get free maintenance...Iwill be utilizing that to the fullest. Speaking of which the light cover in the kitchen still has not been put back, I need to call maintenance.
I like not having a car (this might change quickly), it forces me to get out and walk and it is going to save us a ton of money.
I like that I can look out my bedroom window and see hummingbirds :)
There are many more things I like about living in Serra Mesa. At first I admit I was worried that I had made a mistake and choose the wrong area. I am happy that we are here. I am really happy that we will be here for a least two years. Finally a little stability for us. Now to work on the baby situation :)
Pictures will come soon, I promise!

Trying to catch up.

I am still behind, but am slowly catching up. Here are some pictures. More to come.
When David and I were in Vegas we took Shadow to dinner at Chuck E Cheese. She had fun getting to spend time with mom and dad by herself. Shadow turns seven this month. She is still taller than Christy.
Christy got a bike for Christmas. This is actually bike #2. Bike #1 that Santa got her was missing a few parts so we had to return it and pick another bike. This one is cooler anyway. It has an amplifier in the little red bag on the front. She can hook her MP3 player to it and listen to her music as she rides. She was so excited to learn to ride a bike, now if only she could ride it to school. Here is David teaching her how to ride. She learned very quickly.

We rented a Budget truck to move all our stuff. When we had everything in boxes in the apartment waiting to load the truck all I could think was that I had too much stuff. As you can see it all fit inside with room to spare.
Don't worry Christy did not ride in the back. She got to ride up front with David for most of the trip. Last time we moved to California Christy had to ride in the front seat of my car and she got sick. I was worried that she would have the same problem in the truck, but she didn't. She loved being able to ride with dad.
Poor David had to go buy digital cami's for his new duty station and he sewed all his patches on by hand, as I sat by and watched. I would have helped but the patches have to be specific so David took care of it.
Hopefully my next post will have pictures of our new house. We are excited to be back in San Diego and we are looking forward to having lots of visitors....hint hint!
