Christmas Eve

This is a picture taken on Christmas Eve aboard the USS Nimitz. This picture was taken in the hanger bay. The soldiers are sifting and sorting through 34,400 pounds of mail. I couldn't find David in this picture. He is most likely not in the picture since he was recently released from his RAS duties. When I talked to David he said that he did receive a stocking and was already tired of so many sweets. David will be home soon! As of right now he will fly off the ship on January third. He will fly into Bahrain and from there he will fly back to San Diego. But as we are all aware as soon as we make plans the Navy changes theirs, so right now all our plans are tentative. We are all very anxious for David to be home.
I want to thank Aliese's students at the Lava Ridge Intermediate School for making Christmas cards that I sent to the sailors :)

Merry Christmas

Last night we had family dinner at mom and dads house and then we had our Christmas Eve program. After the program all the kids got to open one package (pajamas) and then we laid out our stockings. Then the kids went to bed. We had a giant sleepover at mom and dads house. We didn't get much sleep. Too much laughing and tooting going on! But it sure was fun! This morning the kids got up around seven and then we all went upstairs to open gifts. There were tons of gifts! Everyone got really good gifts and we had so much fun. David called! Not too long before i get to go pick him up and bring him back to St. George for a few weeks. I can't wait. We are home now and later we will go back to mom and dads for games and treats. Enjoy the pictures!

Crystal and Christy wearing Crystal's hats.

The kids lined up waiting to go into the front room. We always had to do this as kids. We would line up in the hall oldest to youngest and wait for mom to tell us she was ready. Then in we would file.

All the kids laying in bed downstairs :)

the kids got to open one present on Christmas Eve.....pajamas. Christy was not too happy about this.

Mom and dad just had this kitchen put into the basement. It's a very nice kitchen.

I love the Christmas season. I am so grateful to be a member of the one true church on earth. I love that at this wonderful time of year we can spend time with our families. I have been so blessed to have been born and raised in the church. I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and was able to feel the spirit and spend time with their loved ones.

The week leading up to Christmas

Monday after work I went to the Temple Visitor Center with the Waddells and mom and dad for Family Home Evening. Tuesday I went to the dentist and had the packing pulled out of my teeth. Then I got to leave work early. Ann brought Christy and Shadow into town. We went to Target and Ann bought the girls each a gift. Then the girls and I went to Alishas for treat making. We made lots of goodies and had lots of fun just hanging out with sisters. Tuesday night Shadow spent at our house. Wednesday I got a call in the morning saying that a water main had broke at the HPC building and we might not have to work. We did end up working on Wednesday. In the early afternoon I started feeling really hot, dizzy and nauseous. I threw up and decided to go home. This whole wisdom tooth experience has not been a good one. It's a good thing I got them all out at once, if I had only done one or two at a time the rest would be staying in. Wednesday late I drove over and had dad and Danni give me a blessing. Oh Dean and Ann took Shadow home on Wednesday. We had a really good time with her here!

A little of this and that.

So Friday I got up feeling okay and decided to go to work for a few hours. My mouth felt okay. I left work at noon and went and picked up Christy from school. I drove her to Fillmore where her Grandma Cosgrove was waiting to pick her up for the weekend. On my way home my father in law called and let me know that they were getting Shadow that evening. Saturday morning I wasn't feeling all that great. It was a mixture of my mouth hurting and a compilation of the week that I had had. Also David and I were at odds about a few situations. I was determined to stay in my room the whole weekend. There's a TV in my room and I have plenty of bottle water in the fridge. I was set. Come noon and I just couldn't handle it. I had to get out. I went into town and stopped at a friends gift boutique and bought me some gifts. Then I drove to my parents house and dropped off some potatoes that the Bushars had given me. Then I decided enough of my pity party, I called Ann and asked her if it would be okay if I picked up Shadow for a few hours. She was more than happy to let me pick up Shadow. So I drove to Enterprise. The plan was for Shadow and I to come into St. George and buy presents for Christy and David. We went shopping and then she said that she really wanted to see The Princess and the Frog. I called Ann and let her know that I was going to take Shadow to the movie, Ann suggested that I keep Shadow overnight. So Shadow and I went and saw the movie. She really enjoyed the movie. Shadow spent the night then this morning we went to church with my parents. Amber and Danni and their boys are in town :) They were at church too. After church Shadow drove with me to Fillmore to pick up Christy. They were so excited to see each other. This weekend was the first time that Christy and I have seen Shadow since David left. She has been with the Bushars a few times but all the other times it seemed like I had things going on that didn't permit being able to see her. She is here for a longer period of time as well so it made it easier for more of the family to see her. We drove to Enterprise to drop Shadow off at Grandma Bushar's, when we got there Ann asked if Christy could stay as well. So here I am alone :) don't get me wrong its nice. I am excited that the girls will have time to spend together. Ann is going to bring them into town on Tuesday.
I feel like this post is all over the place, sorry. I am worried that my mouth is infected. My bottom two wounds hurt all the way up my jaw to my ears. And I feel like there is a bad taste in my mouth. I guess tomorrow it's back to the dentist for me, hopefully nothing is wrong and I am just a worry wart. Here's a few pictures. I got my new camera tonight so hopefully no more blurry, yellow photos. I love this time of year and am looking forward to the big family sleepover on Christmas Eve. There is nothing better than family :)
Shadow and I.

USS Nimits News:
I talked to David on the phone today. He officially re-enlists on the 27th. He is re-enlisting for two years of shore duty, with the option to extend shore duty for one more year. David is currently attending a leadership class for E5's. He no longer has to do RAS's, they replaced him because he is leaving. They had a picnic on the flight deck recently and the other night they had an ice cream social. David says Christmas Day will most likely be a beer day. Thats where all the sailors get two beers. What a way to spend Christmas!

Hopefully done

Today I had my wisdom teeth out. Dad picked me up from work and drove me to the dentist. I had four different shots to numb my mouth. The two in the roof of my mouth kinda hurt. The top two wisdom teeth came out nice and easy. The bottom two were a different story. The dentist had to work to get them out. He had to cut part of the bone on both sides because of how they had grown in. Dad came and picked me up when I was all done and drove me to Harmons to fill a pain prescription. We were walking around while waiting for my prescription to be ready. We got over by the frozen food when I realized that I was dripping blood on my shirt. I went to the bathroom and tossed my ice packs because they were covered in blood and coming apart. I grabbed some extra paper towels. Then dad and I walked back over and sat by the pharmacy to wait. Dad had to go the bathroom a few times and get me more paper towels. He even got me a wet wipe to try and clean some of the blood off my shirt. Finally less than three dollars later my drugs were ready. On the way out we stopped by the garbage can so I could change paper towels. Instead of easily changing paper towels I made a mess. There was blood all over me and the floor. I have such a good dad he cleaned it all up for me. Then dad brought me home so I could change and then he drove me to the school for Christy's Christmas program. I think for now I am done with all dental work. Thanks dad for all your help today!

Frocking

This is a picture of the Frocking Ceremony aboard the USS Nimitz on December 11, 2009. This ceremony officially changed David from a Petty Officer Third Class to a Petty Officer Second Class. I am so proud of David! He put a lot of hard work and time into this advancement.

For those without facebook......Amber you can skip this one!

David posted this on his facebook. I really liked it and seeing as how this is a journal/scrapbook of sorts I thought I would post it here. That way I can have it for a long time :)

David Bushar Once upon a time there was a boy who fell in love with two beautiful girls one being the daughter of the other. This boy married that girl and began to realize that this girl is the one that he had been looking for his whole life. This boy and girl had two wonderful children. One being his and the other being hers. This boy and this girl had desires to be

David Bushar
sealed together forever, but this boy and girl had fights like all couples do. their love continued to grow every day. Now this boy and girl desired greatly to have children together. They went through many hard times trying to have a child but to no avail. There faith in God was tested . There came a time when the boy had to go to war to ... make sure his little family was safe. This was hard for both the boy and the girl and they mourned their time apart. soon this boy and girl will be reunited and will continue on there quest to have children as well as there quest to be sealed together forever. The boy had faith that soon there desires for both being sealed and having more children would be satisfied.

Update

Tonight I attended my work Christmas party. I left work a little early and went and had Kelsie do my hair. I am not very good at cute hairstyles. Kelsie did a great job! The party was held at "Haven". We had yummy dinner and we played a gift exchange game. It was a lot of fun. It's nice to hang out with my co-workers outside of work. While we were eating it started snowing outside. It was pretty big flakes too. None of it stuck but I was so happy. I love the snow :) In the gift exchange I got some snowflake cookie cutters. David has become addicted to facebook. Which is so funny because at first he didn't even want it. I am glad though because its one more way that we can communicate. Christy and I
Don't worry, a new camera will be coming soon, Then no more fuzzy photos.
This picture is for the teeth. This is one week into Invisalign. We will compare this picture to the one when I am all done in a year and a half.

sick, sick if what, just sick

The last few days I have been hot, I can't seem to cool off even outside without a coat I have just been hot. Yesterday morning my nose started running and I started sneezing. It seemed to get worse as the day went on. I had Crystal run and get me some tissues because the Kleenex at work is like rubbing your nose with sandpaper. I got so bad that around four I decided I had had enough. I came home. This morning I woke up feeling really yucky but knowing that it would be really busy at work and we were going to be short a few people I put on my happy face and took a handful of pills and went to work. Only to find out that one of the girls that couldn't work all day went and got drunk at lunch. That makes me feel so much better about how hard I work at that place!
And thanks to all my co-workers who made sure to tell me how bad I looked today. I feel bad for the two new girls that they hired to do my job, yes that's right they hired two girls to do my job. We have great examples of how to be a great employee at my job.
I can't wait for David to come home so I can be a stay at home mom, working only if/when I want to.
Enough of my ranting! I'm sick so I'm entitled right?

USS Nimitz News

So it looks like David will be let off the ship on January 5th and get back to North Island Base on January 9th. That's just the way it is now, we know by now that things are bound to change. Be prepared to make changes as the Navy makes changes. We are debating between two housing villages to move into. The first on the list is Gateway Village where we lived before. The other is the Village at Serra Mesa. It's about four miles more north-east of Gateway Village. Christy would be in a different school and we would be in a different ward. For those of you who saw our Gateway home, the Village at Serra Mesa homes look the same. They have a few different floor plans but colors and Village set up is the same. Neither have long waiting lists! I found out that the USS Nimitz will be back in San Diego in around March. The ship will be in port for a few months then go back out on a short deployment then the USS Nimitz will be changing home ports. Its new home port will be Bremerton, WA. I am kinda sad that David is leaving the Nimitz. If he stayed with the Nimitz we would have a chance of moving to Washington. That would have been a whole new adventure for us. Oh well David is coming home and that is the very best thing! :)

Teeth

I am beginning to wonder if Aliese is the only one who reads my blog?
Anyways I got all the cavities from both sides of my mouth drilled and filled and all the silver is now gone from my mouth :) In a few weeks I will be getting my wisdom teeth out. Today I picked up my Invisalign. I am so excited! I saw a computer generated image of how my teeth will look when I'm all done and I am way excited, they will look great! I am getting way excited for Christmas. I love the holidays :) I also can't wait till David comes home.

Thanksgiving Fun

Warning: Lots of pictures. :)
Christy and I spent Thanksgiving in Logandale this year. Wednesday after work I came home and packed then picked Christy up at moms house. We stopped at McDonalds for some dinner and then drove to Logandale. When we got there it was just Salina's kids home. the adults had all gone to Mesquite for a movie. Christy and I kicked Conner out of his room and we slept on his bunk beds. Thursday morning we woke up and started cooking. Uncle Dean and his five boys were at Salina's house for Thanksgiving as well. There was so much food being prepared in the morning. A little after one we sat down to eat. There were 21 people at Salina's house for Thanksgiving dinner. Grandma Deloy was there. He is 86 years old. You can tell that he doesn't always remember everything. It was really good to see him. Mandy Jeremiah and their two boys were there as well. There were two turkeys one that Salina cooked in the oven and one that Tyler deep fried. There were many different choices of sides and many, many pies. We ate till we were full. After we ate there was Karaoke, movies and games! Thursday when it got dark we played Fugitive. So much fun! I had never even heard of the game before. In the game there are hiders and finders/seekers. You all go to the drop off point. Depending on the amount of people there can be one or two vehicles. The two people in the vehicles use flashlights. The hiders are given a head start. The object of the game is for the hiders to make it back to the meeting point without being spotted by the finders. In this case we had two vehicles, we dropped everyone off at the elementary school and they were to make their way back to Salinas house. Now if you know the area you know that the school is next to the fair grounds and then there is desert between there and Salinas house. The vehicles are allowed to drive in the dirt to find you. The first game the finders played a trick on the hiders. We drove to a spot close to Salinas house and parked and waited for them to walk by. The first game was very quick. The second game Tammy and Emma were my partners. We made it all the way from the school to Salinas house without getting found. We were the last ones back to the house. It was so much fun! We played Curses later with most of the adults. It was my first time playing that as well. It was so much fun to watch everyone make fools of them selves. Friday a few of the family went four wheeling. Salina gave Christy a much needed haircut. Her hair will make our mornings so much better! Friday was spent watching movies, playing games, eating and visiting. Friday evening all the adults and Christy went to Vegas for the evening. We watched the volcano explode, we watched the water show at the Bellagio and we walked thru the garden inside the Bellagio. We all stopped at Godiva and bought truffles. Yum, yum. There was a lot of walking and it was getting pretty late. Christy was very spoiled and got many piggy back rides. Deans boys were so happy to help with Christy. One of the boys told me that they had always wanted a little sister and they love being with Salinas girls. I offered to let them take her home! That didn't happen. Today we watched more movies, more four wheeling was had, more eating and more fun. I took Christy, Emma and Alexa to the grocery store and got them treats. We went to Valley of Fire and let the kids run and have fun. there was a couple doing wedding pictures while we were there. When it started raining we left. Christy and I came home tonight. Christy did fairly well for being away from home for so long. There were times when she fought with the girls, there were some tears, and lots of tattle taling. Christy and Dylan are so much alike that its hard for them to be around each other for so long. We had a couple pretty big fits, maybe that's why the boys didn't want to take Christy home with them :) I am so glad that we had the opportunity to spend the holiday with the Canfields and the Andersens. I watched Deans boys and it made me want to have a boy myself. They are such good guys and they were so good and patient with all the little kids. We had so much fun. I am so thankful for my family both immediate and extended and all the new family that I am blessed to keep meeting. I am so very thankful for David and all that he has done for me and for all the love that he has for me. He is such an amazing husband! I hope everyones Thanksgiving was good!!! Now for the pictures.

Fun Stuff

Saturday I went to see New Moon. I went with a few family members. My dentist office had rented out a theatre just for their patients. They had a raffle before the movie started. Rodolfo won an electric toothbrush and Miguel won $50 off your dental bill. Miguel was so nice and gave it to me! Thanks Miguel. We sat on the second row. I got a migraine from the movie and I was so dizzy. After the movie Christy and I came home and started getting ready for Ryan's baptism. We started driving to Enterprise and I got so dizzy and my migraine was so bad that we had to turn around and come home. Not good. I spent the rest of Saturday at home taking massive amounts of pain relievers. I didn't get to sleep on Saturday until after 3 in the morning. Sunday I woke up after noon and decided that I would not be able to make it to church. Later on Sunday Christy and I went to Overton and spent some time at Salinas house. We had so much fun. We made cupcakes and saw their pig. We had to leave at seven and drive to the airport to pick up Grandma Beasley and Great Grandma Humes. They had been in Idaho. Grandma Humes youngest brother passed away last week. We got home pretty late Sunday night. This week is a short work week. Only three days. Today was a really good day. I went to lunch with Christy and Cami. We had lunch at Olive Garden. Tomorrow after work we are headed back to Salinas house for Thanksgiving :) We can't wait. We love hanging out at Salinas!

Rebecca, Christy and Cami at work! We were goofing off :)
Christy and I posing for the camera. We work hard!
Yet another picture. We really do work at work....sometimes :)
USS Nimitz News:
David is getting homesick! They have brought in some other LS sailors to fill in when David leaves so he is working on training. This leaves him more time to study and to call me! He has called more often lately which is so nice. He is scrambling to get everything done for his Naval Aviation Warfare pin. He has to get it a month before he is set to detach from the ship or he can't get it. David is ready to come home!

Gala Auction Jubilee Dinner

These are really small pictures. Last night I went to the Gala dinner with the ZIO crew. Dr. Andruss bought a table for him and seven of us girls. We got all dressed up and had a great time!It was crazy how much some of the items and trees auctioned off for. But it was all for a good cause. This year they were raising money to bring a life flight helicopter to southern Utah. I had a great time hanging out with the girls from work and Dr. Andruss.

Orders, Orders! Read all about it!

General Public and Navy Personnel Warning:
Orders are subject to change at any moment without notice. Any personal plans made, will need to be adjusted to conform with changes made by your new command.

The awaited day has finally arrived, orders were received for LS3 Bushar.

David is scheduled to detach from USS Nimitz CVN 68 in January 2010. He is to report to his new duty station on Coronado Island no later than February 16, 2010.

David is going to try and see if he can come home earlier while Amber and Danni are still here. It is a relief to finally have orders. Now at least I know where we will be going and I have a better idea of when. Now we just need to wait for the advancement test results. We are hoping and praying that David's test score was high enough and that he has enough points to advance to Petty Officer Second Class.

San Diego get ready, here come the Bushar's......AGAIN! :)

Looking Back

I found out on Halloween of 2000 that I was pregnant. It was a very big unexpected surprise. On January 8, 2001 I went to my first OB appointment. James went with me and we got to hear the heartbeat. Christy was always a very active baby. I only worried when she would stop moving! I was super excited when I had my ultrasound and they told me that I was having a girl. I honestly think I would have cried if it turned out I was having a boy. I had two baby showers. One was a family one at Aunt Maries house, and the other was a work one after Christy was born. Christy was born three weeks early. She was born at the American Fork Hospital in American Fork, Utah. Christy was born on June 18th 2001 at 6:31pm. She was 7lbs 14 oz and 20 inches long. We stayed in the hospital for three of four days because Christy had Jaundice and her bilirubin levels were too high. When we finally got to go home Christy had to stay in a ultra violet bed except for to eat, change her diapers and trips to the hospital for blood tests. Christy was always such a good baby. She slept through the night almost from the beginning. She wasn't a fussy baby either. I love the above picture of Christy. I think of all the pictures of Christy that this is my favorite! This was taken around the time that she was two months old. She is wearing her blessing dress that Grandma Beasley made for her. I love my little Christy!

Going On's

Well Christy's dental work is all done, now it's time to start on mine. I went to the dentist this morning and I have a few cavities that need to be drilled and filled. I also really need to get my wisdom teeth out. I have decided that I best take care of all this while still in St. George. I have a really good dentist here and who knows what dentist we would get stuck with in California. Last time we did not have a really good dentist. I also have decided to get Invisalign. I talked to my manager and we decided that when I leave again that I will still be on the payroll as a prn employee. I went to parent teacher conference today. Christy is doing well in school. I am excited that it is the fall season and that Thanksgiving is coming up. I love this time of year!

Hair or the lack there of....

I have been debating lately what to do with my hair. A few weeks ago I went and got my hair trimmed, but I still wasn't satisfied. Tonight I went and had Lucinda chop my hair. She did an amazing job. I no longer have any purple. My extensions are gone. It was fun to have them and now I will feel more comfortable with getting them in the future. David never did get to see them in person, sorry honey! I absolutely love my haircut.

Every Tuesday for the last three weeks Christy has had a dentist appointment. She had two cavities and the first one she really struggled with. The second appointment toke care of the second cavity and today Christy got sealants. For now all her dental work is done. We have to wait for a few more teeth to come in before we can start her orthodontic treatments.
Christy and I spent last weekend at the cabin. We had fun just the two of us. Christy is doing well in school. SEP's are this week so we will see what the teacher has to say.
USS Nimitz News:
David is getting frustrated. Other members in his division that are leaving after him have already received orders and know where they are going and when they are going. David keeps getting told to wait a few more weeks and he should have orders. We shall see!

Fondue

Salina and Brent
Josh and Wendy

Last night after work Christy and I headed to Salina's house in Overton. Josh was making dinner and we were having fondue. I have not had the pleasure of Fondue before and was pre-warned that it was better than you know what! (at least thats what Josh claims).
Josh made cheese fondue for the first course with yummy sourdough bread chunks. He also made a spinach dip. Then we had a meat course of little wienies and meat chunked up. Yummy, yummy. Except you have to cook your meat in a little fondue pot of oil and I didn't always get my meat the way I like it.
Then came dessert. HEAVEN :) Chocolate fondue in which we dipped strawberries and chunks of pound cake. Amazing!

It was a very good evening. It was fun to sit and visit with my cousins while Christy played.

Halloween

As Halloween is not a favorite of mine this post will be short.
Kayley as Tinkerbell

Tinkerbell, Sally and Darth Vader aka Kayley, Christy and Michael
Papa digging out the candy bucket for the kids.
Christy was Sally from "Nightmare Before Christmas". That is one of her favorite movies. We went trick or treating to Great Grandma Humes' house, Grandma and Papa's house, the mall and the community center. SO much FUN!
Thanks Tammy and Wendy for the Sally dress, and thanks mom for hemming it for us :)

I'm getting old. I have to pull out my calendar whenever I blog so I can remember what I have been doing lately. Last week I went to a Tastefully Simple party. It was lots of fun. I spent more money than I probably should have. Oh well. Friday after work I went over and hung out at Alisha's house. We all decided to go to a movie. Alisha and her family, Crystal, Christy and I went and saw "Where the Wild Things Are". It was a good movie. I will defiantly be buying it when it comes out on DVD. We invited mom but she didn't come :( Saturday was a busy day. Mom called at ten and woke me up and said that we were meeting at 11 for the "What Women Want Expo". Mom, Alisha, Micheal, Kayley, Crystal, Christy and I went. We had so much fun. We went thru the whole expo then Christy and I had to leave. We made it to the rental right before Dean, Ann, Deann and Hector got there. They brought me a huge gunny sack of potatoes, a bucket of carrots, a bucket of apples, a couple jars of applesauce, a jar of apple butter and lots of frozen corn. After that Christy and I went to the Vernon Worthen Park and got hot dogs and chips. Papa was there serving hot dogs. Hot dogs on the grill are my favorite, I can never pass them up. Especially when they are free! :) Then Christy and I went back the the expo. I bought Christy the prettiest church dress. I also bought Christy a bracelet and I bought one of those bead watches that everyone has. I got a couple different bands. I also let Christy get bling in her hair. I spent way too much money. Saturday afternoon Christy and I drove to Pine Valley. We went to Gaile's cabin and got apples. Gaile has a large apple tree in the front yard. Her son Logan had gotten most of the bottom ones already and the ones he could reach with the ladder. So Christy and I had to improvise on how to get the apples out of the tree. We started with Christy on my shoulders. She could reach a couple that way. We both were laughing so hard, I almost fell and dropped Christy. Then we tried hitting the apples with a stick we found. Then we started throwing rotten apples up into the tree and knocking down other apples. Christy had so much fun. I let her throw apples for almost an hour. Sunday we went to church with mom and dad. It was the primary program. I always love the primary program. It is so fun to watch the little kids. There was one cute little sunbeam boy sitting on the front row and at one point he had just about all of his pointer finger up his nose. It was so funny. We also had family dinner last night. dad made yummy potatoes, carrots and roast. Dad is so good to make dinner for all of us. I can't wait till Christmas when Amber will be here. It will be so much fun to have us all together. It would be even better if Sarah and her kids were able to come. I haven't seen her or her kids for a few years. Christy and I have been fighting a lot lately. It seems like more often than not I am getting her dressed, and bed time is really bad. I can't wait till things get more stable for all of us and I can get back to a normal routine. I feel so bad for her. Work has been going very well the last week :) Well enjoy the pictures!

Look at the concentration on her face as she aims for apples.
Where did my apple go? I am pretty sure I saw it go up.

Having so much fun at Gaile's cabin getting apples. Thanks Gaile :)
This is Peanut. Rodolfo bought him for Crystal. Peanut lives at our house. He is a stinky animal. But then all animals are. We have fun with Peanut :)

USS Nimitz News:
The Nimitz pulled into Bahrain on October 24th. The Nimitz is the third US Navy ship in history to port in Bahrain. I guess its a pretty strict port. Usually David only has to have one liberty buddy, but in order for them to go out in Bahrain he had to have two liberty buddies. This obviously was Davids first time in Bahrain. David is doing good! He misses home and can't wait to be home with family!
