Crystal turned 21 this week. She is getting to be such a big girl :) I came home the other day too Crystal and Christy fighting. They act more like sisters than Aunt and Niece. Crystal lives with us and she tends Christy while I work. I am so very grateful to Crystal and all she does to help with Christy. Sometimes I feel bad for her because I know that Christy can be a handful. Anyways this picture was taken the same day that I came home to fighting. I was down stairs watching tv and I realized that it was quiet upstairs. I went upstairs and this is what I saw. The two girls chillin in Crystals bed watching tv. I climbed in for a while too. Thanks to Crystal for all she does to help me out. We love you and Happy Happy Birthday!!!!

Christy is Famous
A few months ago the San Diego sixth ward primary had an activity day at the San Diego Temple. It was a really good activity, all the kids dressed in their Sunday best. The sister missionaries talked with all the kids about the Temple and showed them pictures of the inside. Then all the kids walked around the Temple. This picture was taken before we left. Christy is on the second row the fifth child in. This picture is in this months issue of the Friend! Christy is very proud of this picture.

I'm just a baby.
I have had a pretty bad week. I have been missing David like crazy. There is a girl at my work that is pregnant, she is about eight weeks along and I am jealous and it makes me sad. I have been thinking about it a lot. It's still so hard for me. Work was crazy this week. Its hard for me because I take things so personally and I stress and worry and mule over things. It makes it so I can't sleep and I am so stressed out. Then because I email David about whats going on with me I worry that I am going to stress him out and cause him to worry. I have cried a lot this week! I just really miss my husband :(
Nimitz News:
The USS Nimitz relieved the USS Reagan in the Gulf Of Oman this week. That means they are in a war zone. They are right by Iran and close to Afghanistan. I guess that means more money for all the sailors. I know that it really doesn't put David in any danger to be in a war zone but I still worry about him. There is a group of Navy moms that have adopted the USS Nimitz for Christmas. Since their deployment has been extended to an eight month deployment the sailors will not be home for Christmas. Oh boy here come the tears. I really miss David. This is so much harder than I thought it would be.

USS Nimitz News
The USS Nimitz left for what was to be a six month deployment on July 31, 2009. They left from the home port of Naval Base North Island in San Diego, CA. This was to be my first and only deployment as a navy wife. Their first port visit was to Yokosuka, Japan. While in port they had a Command change. The USS Nimitz now has a new captain. Their second port visit was to Singapore. They have recently left Singapore. While in port David took his advancement test. I talked to him this morning and he feels like he did well on his test. David also informed me that their six month deployment has now turned to eight months. We are having issues getting new orders for shore duty. Our options are limited and the situation has been weighing on David and I. There is so much that is up in the air at this time. David seems to be having a tough time. For all of you that are not my facebook peeps I am putting together a care package for David and everyone is welcome to contribute. I know that letters, pictures, etc. would help David out. Well thats all for now. Please keep David, and all active duty members in your prayers.

Hurricane and Springdale
This morning Christy and I got up and headed out. We first drove to Grafton Ghost Town. Christy at work was telling me about it the other day so we decided to go. As we drove through Hurricane I was surprised at how much it has changed since I have been gone. There is now a Walmart and a new Maverik out there. I think Hurricane might be a nice place to buy a lot and later live. Christy wasn't that crazy about Grafton, I think when I told her it was a ghost town she was expecting something like Calico. She thought the cemetery was pretty cool though. After Grafton we drove through Springdale. We stopped and did the tourist thing, walking thru stores and looking at all the treasures. Christy
was not interested in seeing the "Treasure of the Gods". We stopped in Virgin at the little place that has mock buildings. Christy got to feed carrots to llamas, a horse and a donkey. There were also a couple of deers there. Then we drove back thru Hurricane. Christy was hungry so we stopped at Main street cafe and had some very yummy food. I recommend stopping there to eat if you are in the Hurricane area. Then we came home. It was a fun day. The pictures are from the end of the day to the beginning. Sorry Christy eating her yummy breakfast. She had a waffle with whipped cream and strawberries on top and she had hot chocolate to drink. I tasted her waffle, it was so good, as was her hot chocolate. Christy is funny, lately when we go out to eat she always wants hot chocolate to drink even though it is in the high nineties or in the hundreds outside.

A great Friday off
Today I had the whole day off. I realize that I took for granted being a stay at home mom while living in California. I had such a good day. I got to sleep in and take my time getting up and ready. I drove into town and went to McArthur Jewelers. My cousin Darrin works there and I was talking too him about another part of my ring I want. For Christmas this year I want a jacket for my wedding ring that has all our birthstones in it. I haven't told David yet but I am sure he will be okay with it. I am really excited about it. Then I drove to my dads office and waited for him to get back from the bank. Then we went to lunch. It has been a long time since I have gone to lunch with just my dad. A few years ago I went to the BBB lunches at the college with my dad. It was always fun just me and dad. Today we went to Arbys. It was really nice to visit with my dad. Then I drove to Alisha's house and waited for Christy to get back from school. Then we went to my cousin Heathers house. Christy and Jocey got to play for a few hours and I got to visit with Heather and her girls, and play with her baby. It is so nice to have so much family so close. I am really glad that Christy is friends with Jocey. It's nice for her to have friends that have the same values and live the same way we do. Tonight I think we will rent a movie and have some popcorn. Tomorrow we are off for another adventure.

Going On's
This week has been crazy. Zion Orthopaedics is moving again. I remember when I first started working there in 2003 they were getting ready to move from behind the mall to inside the hospital. Now they are moving from the hospital to the new Health and Performance Center behind the hospital. Anyways Tuesday us girls packed up the office. We all worked really hard and got most everything packed by 5. Wednesday we all met at the new office and unpacked. I won't lie it was chaos. But once again we were just about done with what we could do by 5. Today was another day of unpacking. With this whole move the girls at ZIO have seen our share of shady characters. Construction workers, electricians, painters and movers. Some very questionable. Oh yes we can't forget the security guard. I think he was lonely. We saw him in the office twice within an hours time. So this morning there was not a whole lot going on, mostly just practicing the hospital radiology registration program. Four of us went to Applebees for lunch. Then when we got back from lunch there were a few patients that needed to be seen. Anyways come two o'clock and Christy and I are having a grand time at our small station. Nicole came over and told us if we had nothing to do we could leave, and if the computers were not up and running tomorrow we didn't need to come in. So I have tomorrow off. I am hoping that all the drama in the office is dealt with so come Monday we can all work in peace. With eight females, all working closely together five days a week, with eight sometimes more hours a day, you can imagine that there would be some drama! Now on to other things.
David emailed me today and said he feels like he did well on his test. He also got an email from his detailer saying that for his current rank and rate there are basically no orders for him. So now we need to make a decision. Do we extend deployment on the ship till test results come out in November and on the chance he passes his test, request orders for SK2. Or do we try to get early out. If David extends deployment on the ship he would not be home before the new year starts. It also sounds like they will not be in their next port for close to 45 days. Overall he is doing well as are we here at the rental.
Christy is doing good in school. This month she is required to read a book on an animal and then do a book report at the end of the month. She is reading "Summer of the Monkeys". I am having her take a break from Harry Potter so she can finish "Summer of the Monkeys" by the end of the month. I miss being here every morning before school and home every afternoon when she gets home from school.
Well I think thats all. Sorry no pictures.

Fun, Fun, Fun
Christy and I decided to go out of town for Labor Day. Back in early August I made plans to spend some time in California. Come to find out a few days before we went that Davids family had made plans to have Shadow for Labor Day weekend. Early Saturday morning Christy and I got in the car and started our trip. It was raining so very hard when we left. It was really weird I got on the freeway at exit 10 in St. George going southbound and I didn't see another car going south until I got out of the gorge. We stopped in Barstow and went to Calico ghost town. I remember that I went when I was younger. It was different than I remember. We spent a couple hours there. We rode the train, Christy made a craft and we walked a lot. Christy had a good time. On the train ride we rode in the caboose. Then when we left there we headed to San Diego. When we got to San Diego we went on base and watched "Aliens in the attic". It was a cute movie. It was so nice to go to a free movie. Then we did a little shopping on base. After that we went swimming at the hotel. Sunday we spent most of the day at Sea World. We had a good time. Monday we spent the morning at Disneyland. For lunch we met Josh, Wendy and Tammy at the Original Pancake house. Christy was so very hyper. Then we headed home. We stopped in Overton and saw Salina and her family. Today was back to work and school. David is in Singapore for a few days. He takes his advancement test this week. We were denied orders again this month :( This whole orders situation gives me gas. This is the jewelery that I ordered at Wendy's jewelry party. I picked it up when we stopped at Salinas house.
Christy and I making funny faces.

David emailed me this picture from when he was in Japan. I am still waiting for him to send me more pictures.

Christy, School, Contacts
I went to the eye doctor again today, he gave me some drops to try. If they don't work then I will have to try different lenses.
On to Christy.
Her school had testing today. We went in this evening and met with the vice principal. Already I am loving her school, such a change over California. The vice principal Mrs. Lane met with Christy and I so she could test Christy's reading. The test she had available only went to level 38. Christy read that just fine. Mrs. Lane said that she will pull Christy in during school tomorrow and do more testing to find out what level she is on.
After Christy did her reading test I spoke with Mrs. Lane for a few minutes about Christy. I let her know a little about Christy. She was very eager to do whatever she could to help Christy. She is going to get Christy set up with the school counselor. She was very helpful and very understanding and sensitive to Christy and her needs. I am so excited for Christy!
So that's whats going on :)

For Amber
Amber says that I don't blog enough. So here goes. Last week I went to the eye doctor. Even though I haven't had a check up since February of 2007 my contact prescription only went from 4.25 to 4.75. I guess thats just a one step change. Both my eyes are the same, and my glasses are from 2003 and I can still see 20/20 with them on. I got a pair of sample contacts from the doctor. I guess they now make contacts out of silicone and they really bug my eyes. By the end of the day my eyes are so tired and they itch so bad. I have another eye appointment tomorrow to see what I can do about it. Hopefully I can get some that will be okay for my eyes. My eyes are so sensitive and I get corneal ulcers so easy. Last weekend was the Corn Fest in Enterprise. The Bushar family had a food booth. We made pork salads like the ones at Cafe Rio. We sold out before the Corn Fest was over. It was fun. Christy is doing good in school. She is starting to have a few problems again, hopefully our insurance will be fixed soon and I can get her back into counseling. David has been busy. They have left Japan and I am not sure where they are headed now. He was working hard to get all the month end stuff done. He has been studying hard for his test. When he sends me his pictures from port I will do a post about his port visit. Work is going good for me. When I started working they had me up at the front desk because thats where they needed me, now they have moved me into the back. It's a busy office, but I really enjoy the work and I enjoy my co-workers. Christy and I are looking forward to Labor Day weekend, we are going home(San Diego). So Amber next week I will have pictures to post. Oh also last Friday I got to go to lunch with two of my cousins. I met Salina and Tammy at Grandma Humes' house. We visited her for a while and then we went to Samurai 21 for lunch....yummy, yummy. I had yummy salmon and shared some sushi with Tammy. Well Amber I hope you enjoy it :)
