Easy $150

This month Navy Federal Credit Union was having a special! We heard about their special at our community get together. This is how the special worked: One person in your family needed to already have a savings account set up. For each person in your family that opened a new savings account you would receive $25 and they would receive $25. David and I decided that we would set accounts up for the girls. So today being the last day of the special I went in to the credit union to set up the girls accounts. The teller helping me also set up a savings account for me. So David earned $75 in his savings account and the girls and I each get $25 in our accounts. I must admit that was the easiest $150 made!

Old Town with the Moodys

Today we went to Old Town with Grandma Bushar and the Moody's. David was lucky enough to get the day off :) We went to the Mormon Battalion Museum first. The kids had a great time. Then we went to Fred's for Lunch. Then we went and walked around Old Town and took some pictures and the boys got molds of their hands. It was a great day! Lots of yummy food and fun stuff to do!
I don't know why this picture looks so bad. Anyways I have no idea who took this picture. The look on Shadows face and my tongue sticking out of my mouth makes me laugh.
Everyone in the wagon in Old Town.
Grandma with all the kids waiting for lunch at Fred's. They have really yummy Mexican food. We filled our bellies to the brim!
Each kids has a different expression on their face. I'm made it's all out of focus. Oh well. I'm not very good with photo shop still and sometimes my pictures don't work or look the way I want them too.

Bonus Leave

Sunday at 3:52am David's phone started ringing. David still half asleep answered it. It was one of his co-workers. He was stuck, drunk, downtown by the mall with no way home and didn't want to use his red card for a taxi. I guess he had been calling around and David was the only one who answered the phone. In the process of calling around David's co-worker called the LPO who did not answer so this co-worker left a nasty message on his phone. DUMB!!! David being the kind of person that he is went and picked up his co-worker from the downtown mall and drove him home to Chula Vista. All this took a little over an hour. Monday at work David's co-worker was called out and now has to do daily dress uniform checks for the week and he also will be on LS Duty all week and he got a counseling chit (like a bad report). Monday after David gets home for work we are sitting down to eat and his phone rings. It was David's chief. Because David helped his co-worker out he gets a bonus 24 hour leave :)

Just a side note yesterday in Coronado it was 100 degrees and here at home it was 95 degrees I felt like I was back in St. George and it really sucked because our pool is closed every Monday for cleaning and it was way to hot outside to go anywhere else.

I just had too

David and I were browsing at Kohls today killing time while Christy was at the Primary program practice. We wandered thru the store and eventually came to the baby section. We were looking at all the different baby clothes and David was expressing what he would and would not let a baby boy of his wear. I came across these little sandals and I instantly loved them. There were no tags attached and no other similar sandals nearby. I carried them around as we browsed thru the rest of the baby section. When we finished browsing we went to the register and asked for a price check. It took some digging from the worker in the baby section to find the price for these. We were in luck they were on clearance. These sandals were normally $12. David told me that if they were less than five dollars I could buy them. Final price for these adorable newborn baby sandals $1.31 :) I was so excited!!! David thinks its weird to buy shoes for babies that small. What can I say I have an addiction to baby shoes, actually all things baby cuteness. I remember before Christy was born she had nine or ten pairs of shoes. I don't think David knows how many pairs of brand new baby shoes I have stashed in the storage room. SHHH we better not let him know about that. I absolutely love these sandals and I am so glad that we went to Kohls today!

Womanly Things

So I am not sure how much of my womanly issues I have written about or how much detail I have gone into. I have had two ultrasounds. The first one was to check my uterus lining. The lining is fine, there are no fibroids or misshapes. But they did find a concerning nodule in my left ovary. My pap smear also came back abnormal. I had to have a biopsy done. The biopsy came back normal, so that's a relief. I had my second ultrasound today. Good news the nodule in my left ovary is gone, but now I have one in my right ovary. According to the doctor is looks to be fluid filled not solid so that's good news. In six weeks I will go back in for another ultrasound to check it out. Hopefully it will disappear like the one in the left ovary did. In other great news I have an appointment with a fertility specialist this month :) I can't wait! There is hope in all this. Well, that's that!!!

Today

Today is a hard day. Now that Christy is back in school I have all day to myself. Today I had no big projects planned to keep me busy. Yesterday I re-arranged my front room and I cleaned my storage room. While cleaning the storage room I put away some baby stuff that mom bought for me at the Beasley reunion. I have all this way cute new baby stuff in a storage bin. And of course I had to look thru it all before putting it away. It's hard to look at all that baby stuff and not think about babies. It makes me so sad! With going to the OB and having all these different tests done nothing has been found to explain my pregnancy issues, but so many other womanly issues have been discovered. Today I have just been thinking about all this and I get kinda depressed. We were supposed to go to St. George this weekend for a missionary farewell. We had everything planned and then yesterday David found out that he was volun-told that he was scheduled to leave Sunday for a week of training in northern California. I was so looking forward to going to St. George again this weekend. I have a feeling that next week is going to drag by! Well its just about time to go get Christy from school. I hope she had a good day. Kids can be so mean sometimes! Yesterday kids were calling her midget. Well off to pick up Christy :)

Peaches

When I was in St. George last weekend I got to help can peaches and make jam. Dad had been helping in the church orchard harvesting the peaches. When the church had enough they let members come in and pick for themselves. Dad ended up with six or seven boxes of peaches. While I was there helping we made a batch of freezer jam and dad had a batch of bottled peaches for him and one for Grandma Humes done. I had such a good time. Even Crystal and Jared were helping.
Once again ignore the writing on the picture I am still learning photo shop. Mom was having a hard time peeling some of the peaches that I had boiled. Even some that were boiled twice still had to have the peels cut off them.
Mom, Dad and Crystal all working on peaches. They all look so HAPPY :)
Getting started.
Mom went and picked up Grandma Humes and brought her over. She wanted to help with her own bottles. It was very nice to visit with Grandma Humes. Even though I am in St. George every eight weeks (or more) it seems that I don't ever make time to go see grandma.
We had a great time canning peaches. Dad let me bring home two jars of freezer peach jam. The whole morning brought back memories of helping can fruit and make jam while growing up. I am so grateful for parents who have taught me all that I know.

Kiki

I took this picture at Alisha's house. We spent the afternoon at her house and the kids had so much fun playing. Kayley is getting so big. Kayley was getting free horsey rides.
For once I got up early on a Sunday morning. I had so much time that both Christy and I got our hair done fancy. I had Christy pose for me. I really like how her hair turned out.

This is the semi-side view.
This is the back. What I did was separated the hair into five sections. The first section is straight, the second section is a twist, the third section is straight, the fourth section is a braid and the fifth section is straight. I gathered them all into a side messy bun. The flower in her hair actually came pinned to the front of the dress but Little Miss Christy likes to play with it so I decided to put it in her hair.

First Day of School

Christy started Fourth grade on September 7, 2010. Her teacher is Mrs. Peterson. I can't believe how big Christy is getting.
My pretty baby!
Excuse the words on the picture. I am still learning to use photo shop.

Sisters

I stole these pictures from Amber's blog. I really need a scanner. There are so many old pictures that I would love to post on my blog and write more memories.
Alisha, Me and Amber. I don't remember how old any of us are but we all had the chicken pox at the same time. Our poor mom.
This is cute little me. I had light hair for a long time. I don't remember Christy's ever being as light as mine was. I loved dresses. I remember that all I ever wanted to wear was dresses.

Thanks Amber for posting this picture so I could use it.

Last of the reunion

This will be the last of the reunion pictures. There were many more pictures taken but I won't bore you with anymore. I really did have such a great time at the reunion. I love being able to get together with extended family. It was especially nice for our little family of four to all be there. I am looking forward to the next reunion.
David and I in front of the Twin Falls Temple. We were so blessed to be able to attend a session with so many family members and we are equally blessed to have a Temple close to us here in San Diego.
David, Me, Amber and Danni after the session. Don't judge my hair to harshly, remember that we were camping.
Christy had such a great time playing with Jayden.

David and I after the session.

Alisha really missed out on all the fun, maybe next time Alisha and her family will be able to attend the reunion. I know that mom and dad would love to have all their children together.

More of the Reunion

This is what our side of the cabin looked like. We were super messy with our junk all over.
More wheel barrow fun. I think just about everyone had their turn for a ride.
The caption is supposed to say "So many cousins to play with" I messed up. I really do know how to spell. My girls had so much fun with so many cousins around. There were lots of new friendships formed. Shadow and Isabelle (Fawns daughter) decided they were going to be pen pals. Now I just need to find the slip of paper that I wrote her address on.
We sure had fun sleeping all together. I'm not sure how much sleep anyone got what with flying water bottles, loud snoring, laughing and the passing of bodily gasses! I sure giggled a lot :)
Amber helped me to feel better after my little fit. I sure miss my Amber. It is hard being so hard away from her and her family. Hopefully someday soon I will be able to go to her house for a visit. We had such a great time catching up. Thanks Amber!!

Beasley Reunion August 5th - 9th

We were so excited for the Lloyd Jay Beasley reunion this year. The reunion was held at the Pinedell camp in the Sawtooth National Park just outside of Twin Falls, Idaho. It was a very beautiful place to have the reunion. We left California on Wednesday the fourth. We drove to St. George and arrived there around 1 am Thursday morning. Around 5am we pulled out from mom and dads house with mom and dad and Scott's family. We then made our way to the reunion. It was a long drive. Thankfully we didn't have the longest drive. I believe that my cousin Jay drove the farthest. He lives in Iowa. Thursday when we got to camp we choose which cabin we would be sleeping in. There were six or seven two story cabins as well as a lodge and showers. I guess the church uses Pinedell for girls camp and scout camp. The cabins are very simple. The first floor had a table, chairs, a wood burning stove and a small counter. The upstairs is just open space. We spread tarps across the floor and laid our air mattresses on top of them. In our cabin upstairs was mom, dad, Crystal, Amber, Danni, Buddy, Kenneth, Christy, Shadow, David and I. Downstairs for part of the time was Scott and his family. Thursday evening we had yummy dinner. Friday there was Temple in the morning, Dierks Lake for lunch with swimming after and a Dutch oven cook off for dinner. Some of the family went and did baptisms for the dead and then some of us attended a session. David and I attended the session. The Twin Falls Temple is a smaller Temple. David and I were so blessed to be able to attend with other family members. It was so nice to look around the room and see so many family. The picnic and swimming at Dierks Lake was fun. Dinner was fabulous with so many different dishes to try. Danni won first place in the Dutch oven cook off. His meat was so very, very yummy. Saturday the activities included: pinatas, the birthday bash and the auction. Grandma had made pinatas for the young kids, the middle age kids, the girls, and the boys. It was hilarious to watch everyone dive and fight over the candy and money. The auction took FOREVER!!! The birthday bash was more like a grab and go. But it was still fun. I got a jar full of oatmeal, and that's a good thing because all my oatmeal at home was gone :) Also late Saturday was a talent show of sorts. The idea was for you to get up and tell a little about what was going on with your family. The talent show started late and it seemed that people just could not shut up. It was DRAGGING. Sunday a few of the family got up real early and went to church. Our little family of four had our own version of church. Despite there being showers and flushable toilets I just could not make myself get up and head to church. Sunday afternoon I had a little blow up. I had had enough! There comes a point when I just can't take anymore BULL. Poor Crystal was at the wrong end of my blow up. By Sunday afternoon I was done with the drama caused by non relatives at the reunion and the fact that there was poor planning for EVERYTHING and that the food ran out before some of us relatives got to eat, but by golly the non relatives got plenty of food. I was just in a very sour mood. After my blow up I took a walk by myself and found a place to sit away from camp and calm down and enjoy the quiet. I caused quite a stir back at camp. It's a good thing the next regular reunion is two years away. After I calmed down Amber and I spent some time talking up in the cabin. Monday morning we packed up and headed home. It was a really good reunion and I am so glad that we got to go. It was so good to see Sarah and her family. It had been a few years since I had seen them. I have more pictures so most likely there will be another reunion post.
We found this wheel barrow at camp. It was very helpful for hauling "JUNK"
And for hauling some pretty good stuff.
And of course for hauling the little guy :)
Jayden is a year older than Christy. We sure wished that we lived closer so these two girls could play. Christy and Jayden are both in the fourth grade this year.
I was a mean mom and made them stand here for this picture. It was David and Shadow's first time in Idaho.

Shorts

I found these shorts on sale for three dollars at Walmart. I bought a pair for each of the girls and I decided to decorate them. I bought the ribbon and the patch at Walmart as well. The girls wore the shorts once while at the reunion in Idaho and have not worn them since. I even made matching bows out of the ribbon. I guess they looked cuter in my head. Oh well.

A Friend in the Ward

Disclaimer: This post is not meant to offend anyone!

I have a FRIEND in my ward as well as out of church! I have always been jealous of grown women who have friends. I never really had my own "Chelsy" as Amber would say. I shared lots of "Chelsy's" with other people. One of the first sisters I met in this ward was Sister Jennie Williams. She is my go to person in the ward. She is the Achievement day leader and I am the Achievement day assistant. Sadly she is about to be released. She has a daughter a year older than Christy named Morgan. I really feel like we have become friends. Tonight after achievement days she asked what our family was doing on Saturday night. They invited us over for game night. Sadly we will be in St. George. I can honestly say that no other ward I have been in since being married have I had a FRIEND friend. Sure people are nice to you at church and if they happen to see you out in the everyday world some of them say "hi" and some choose not to acknowledge you. Our family and the Williams family seem to mesh well together. They are our kind of people (I hope you understand that, if not, well its kinda hard to explain). Anyways enough of my lame post.
Goodnight All!

P.S. Kellee H. I consider you family!!!
