Peaches

When I was in St. George last weekend I got to help can peaches and make jam. Dad had been helping in the church orchard harvesting the peaches. When the church had enough they let members come in and pick for themselves. Dad ended up with six or seven boxes of peaches. While I was there helping we made a batch of freezer jam and dad had a batch of bottled peaches for him and one for Grandma Humes done. I had such a good time. Even Crystal and Jared were helping.
Once again ignore the writing on the picture I am still learning photo shop. Mom was having a hard time peeling some of the peaches that I had boiled. Even some that were boiled twice still had to have the peels cut off them.
Mom, Dad and Crystal all working on peaches. They all look so HAPPY :)
Getting started.
Mom went and picked up Grandma Humes and brought her over. She wanted to help with her own bottles. It was very nice to visit with Grandma Humes. Even though I am in St. George every eight weeks (or more) it seems that I don't ever make time to go see grandma.
We had a great time canning peaches. Dad let me bring home two jars of freezer peach jam. The whole morning brought back memories of helping can fruit and make jam while growing up. I am so grateful for parents who have taught me all that I know.

I can't believe I was too busy to go to the orchard and get peaches. It makes me kind of sad because I absolutely LOVE a fresh peach pie!
