USS Nimitz Family Day Cruise

This past Saturday we had the chance to attend the USS Nimitz family day cruise. We boarded the ship a little after six. There was breakfast available for us. There was a variety of donuts, fruit and juice. We got breakfast and then went with David to muster(check in). After that we went to Davids storeroom and he did a little work. Then while Christy was playing with LPO Sanches' daughter in the bounce houses David and I went up to the flight deck to watch as we pulled out of port. A little later we waited in line almost an hour for lunch. There was hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, fruit, veggies and drinks. Also some good chocolate cake that had really nasty frosting. Then they had an air show up on the flight deck. It was kinda cold. After that David worked a little more while Christy got her face painted and played. We had a really good and long day. It was nice to be able to spend the whole day with David.
A picture right outside Davids storeroom.

Pulling back into port.

Part of the air show. As we all know my camera is not the best so sorry for the poor quality pictures.

Here you can see ammo being shot out from the jet. We got to see a jet do a touch down and take off and a jet that did a landing and then took off.

David and Christy up on the flight deck.

Me on the flight deck, it was really windy and cold.

David and I outside his storeroom. Thanks to LPO Valadez for taking this picture,

Two jets refilling the gasoline mid flight.

Looking up from the elevator that normally takes jets from the flight deck to the hanger bay. They opened up two of the elevators to transport people.
We had such a good time. It was a long day but I am so glad that we went. Most likely we will not ever be able to do this again.

That is so cool! I hope one day I can see his ship too. It cracks me up that it is called the Nimitz. I cannot believe the navy would name a ship after a guy who ran his ship up on shore! So funny.

That sounds like so much fun! I know what you mean about nasty frosting, I'm really picky about mine:o)

Awesome experience! I'm interested in this nasty frosting though...I haven't met a frosting I haven't liked (I say bring on the sugared lard)! But if it really was nasty, it's too bad they ruined a perfectly good cake with it!

That is so neat that you got to check out the ship!! It sounds like you had fun. By the way tell David that I reserved the cabin for you, we kept missing each others phone calls.
