Lately there have been a lot of activities for military families. Chik Fil A had a military appreciation night. So Christy and I decided to go. They had a bounce house, face painting, bean bag toss and live entertainment. They also had drawings. We had to wait an hour in line for our free dinner, but it was worth it. I won a $25 gift card to Target. Christy had fun and saw a few of her friends there. And the dinner was yummy.
Then another activity that we attended was at a baptist church. It was on a Saturday. Christy, Jada, Jennifer and I drove to La Mesa ( I had never been to La Mesa before). There was a rock climbing wall, bounce house, cake walk, face painting, balloon animals, puppet shows, giveaways and crafts for the kids. There was free lunch of hot dogs, chips, cotton candy, popcorn and snow cones. We ate alot and had so much fun. It was really nice for Christy to have a friend with her.
I met a really nice lady whose husband is in the Marines and right now he is on his fifth deployment. She has three kids. It was nice for me to talk to her and get some of her ideas and learn some of the things that she has gone through.
This Monday Christy and I went to Disneyland for my birthday. We had a good time.
This time with David gone has been extra hard for me and I'm not sure why. I just feel more depressed and I have missed him a lot more. I am so glad that when he comes home that he has two weeks of leave.

You're one tough cookie! It sounds really hard to be without your spouse for so long so often. I don't think I could do it. It's nice that you were able to attend the activities though, it sounds like they were a lot of fun! Anytime you need a vacation you could totally come visit me in New Mexico for an adventure. Amber says it's only a 10 hour drive from me to her even! ROAD TRIP! haha. <3
That would be extremely difficult to be without your husband for so long! I hate having to do it one week a month! Congrats on your Target Gift Card though, that's awesome! I do love gift cards to Target. ;) Hey, when you're in SG, we should hang out-I have all summer basically! Let me know what your plans are.
Sorry you are sad! I hope your birthday was fun!!! I still haven't sent your gift and I am mad at myself about it because I think you are really gonna love it! Want me to tell you what it is? Huh, do ya, do ya? Okay, I'll just mail it. Tomorrow we will walk to the post office and mail it!
Happy Birthday Rebecca. I am glad you are finding other moms/wifes to talk to about the whole deployment issue. It can be tough. I only had to go through it for a week and a half I think. What made it hard was that I was in gemany at the time. Oh well that's another life time ago. I am glad you had fun in Disneyland and that you are getting out and about. Sorry you are sad, but I have come to relize that you a tough grown up woman that can handle it. It will be nice to see you again soon. Have fun and stay safe.
