Broken pipes

Well this is what my house currently looks like. The pipe that broke was the hot water pipe in the hall bathroom. The plumber came out and cut into the wall and he had to run a new pipe thru the copper pipe from the laundry room where the main pipes come into the house all the way to the hall bath. I guess alkaline eats copper pipes and our whole house is plumbed with copper. Yea for old houses. This just pushes me even more to fix things up and when the market gets even better to sell this house and build a brand new one! In my dreams right? The best part is that the plumber is one of my co workers husbands so even though he was here for a good part of the day he only charged us $100, I don't know any other plumber that would have done that for us. Oh the tender mercies we receive!
