Allowance and Such

So David and I are trying a few new things with Christy. We really want to change some of her behaviors and we want her to start acting like a little lady. We have set up a point system. Christy gets points for chores, baths, no fits, helping with laundry and dishes, and a few other things. At the end of the week we add up her points and she can exchange them for prizes. She also gets $3.00 allowance each week. Man she has it good! Points that turn into prizes and money. So far its helping. And at the same time she is learning more about tithing. Sunday Christy finally lost her second tooth from up top. Sunday night she put her tooth under her pillow so the tooth fairy could come, believe it or not the tooth fairy forgot! OOPS. David told her the tooth fairy doesn't work on Sundays(good save). So last night David tried to put money under her pillow and she woke up. David made some excuse but he wasn't able to get her tooth. So this morning David went in to try and grab the tooth and she woke up!!! She saw that her tooth was still there as was the money. Christy told David that the tooth fairies bag must have been to full to take her tooth. David told Christy that he would take her tooth and write the tooth fairy a note. I guess from now on I should continue to be the tooth fairy.

The point system sounds like a great idea. I need to start something like that with Haylee. :) The tooth fairy story is too cute! Sometimes mothers just know how to get certain jobs done!

Really David, is it that hard to play "Tooth Fairy"? You wait till they are ASLEEP and you do the exchange. Let me know how the whole point system works for ya, I need to do something with my boys, but I guess I acctually have to STICK to something, then it might work. :o)

Ooh, I'm a light sleeper too and was woken up by tooth fairies, Santa, Easter Bunnies, and the like on a regular basis! My parents had me make a pretty envelope to put my teeth in and we left it outside my bedroom door instead. Apparently, it worked much better. And might I suggest not just rewarding points but TAKE THEM AWAY with exessive naughty behavior so she has motivation to earn them back.

SO funny. What a good little tooth fairy, trying to keep the sabath day holy. Perhaps Bud would like to earn prizes. Hmmm...
