Yesterday at the Food Exchange I got three bags of Chayote's. Luckily they handed out a sheet with recipes and I found some recipes online.
Chayote: Pronounced [chah-YOH-teh]. the chayote is another native Mexican plant and is a member of the squash family. It is also referred to as a "vegetable pear" or chcocho. The flesh is quite crisp something like a water chestnut. The chayote is seen in two forms, smooth and prickly. Surprisingly it actually didn't taste too bad.
I just had to have these :)
David is my hero and is going to help me photo shop pictures for my blog. Hopefully now my posts will be more exciting :)
