Christys' RunAway

So we had a typical Sunday this past Sunday. Christy threw her usual ten minute fit the first part of sacrament meeting. She gave me an Indian burn, she punched me, and she kicked me with her ever so sharp Sunday shoes. All while screaming how I am the worst mom ever and how she is going to tell David how mean I am to her(now mind you we sit on the second row, and all this is happening in sacrament meeting). Needless to say I pick her up and carry her like a baby(she weighs 48 pounds and she is kicking and fighting) to the bathroom to calm her down. And on top of all this I have a Sunday headache. Finally I calm her down and we go back into sacrament meeting. Then about fifteen minutes before sacrament meeting is over Christy decides that she is too tired to sit like a big girl and starts flopping herself all over. By the time sacrament meeting was over I was DONE. We were going home and she was going to bed. So Christy spent most of Sunday in her room in bed. I couldn't handle her fit and my headache at the same time. So last night Christy is in the bath and I decide to go pick up her room. I pull out one of her purses from under her bed and there is a pair of pants and two pairs of underwear in the purse(all clean). I don't think anything about it and I put the clothes away. Then I notice her suitcase is under her bed(not where it usually is). I pull her suitcase out and notice that it is full. I open the suitcase and pull out pj's, a Sunday dress, a t shirt, a pair of shorts and some stuffed animals. So now I am starting to wonder. I yell to Christy "Why is your suitcase packed?" Christy yells back from the tub "I was going to run away". She had packed two purses, a backpack and her suitcase. She had everyday clothes, church clothes and church shoes, pj's and toys. She said she was going to go to her friends house for a few days and then come home. After I put everything away I realized that I should have taken a picture of her bags all packed. My little angel. I love her so much and I just try to remember that she is going thru so many changes right now and I just need to be patient and love her.

Good for her!!! (not the running away part...) But I remember "running away" once and I didn't pack a dang thing! She was smart enough to pack CLEAN underwear, toys, etc. That's pretty intelligent. If she tries again you could always do what my friend's mom did (it takes hardcore guts though). My friend packed a bunch of stuff and tried to run away and her mom told her as she was walkin' out the door, "If you're gonna run away, you're goin' the same way you came: Naked and with nothin'!" Needless to say, she didn't get very far.

Gosh, what a horrible Sunday! Sorry she acts like that in church. How fun for you. That would be horrible if she did manage to run away, although she'd probly only go to Harley's house and hopefully her parents or sister would call you. But then again they seem like the kind of parents who wouldn't notice an extra kid around. :)
