Our sewing activities are OVER! They actually went better than I thought. Last night was the second part of the activity. We had 6 ladies from the 12th ward come and help the girls sew. Two of the Achievement day leaders were helping the girls iron, I was helping the girls who weren't there last time cut out their skirts and the other leader walked around and helped everyone out. We ended up with 20 girls there last night. Christy and I went early to start setting up. Right before going to the church Christy and I had been to the dentist. Christy had a cavity that she had filled. So her mouth was numb and she had a fat cheek. When we got to the church Christy asked me if she could go to the bathroom, I reminded her to walk reverently in the halls. A few minutes later she comes back into the room with blood gushing from her lip. She said she had ran into a wall and her tooth had cut her lip. I guess she wasn't walking revernetly. I told her to sit down and put her head back to stop the bleeding. Of course that is to much to ask of Chirsty. She was up bouncing around and then wondering why her lip wouldn't stop bleeding. It was gross. Finally I made her lay down on the floor and the bleeding stopped. There was lots of whining the rest of the evening. Girls not wanting to wait their turn, girls deciding that because it was taking so long they no longer wanted their skirt and girls just plain whining! We only had six or seven girls actually finish their skirts all the way. The rest of the girls are going to set up times to meet with the leaders in their wards and finish sewing their skirts. Christy of course finished hers even though I wanted her to be one of the last ones because it's easy for me to help her at home. I hope that the girls at least learned a little something from making skirts.
