Birthday girl at the beach!
My baby turned ten today. I can't believe that I am old enough to have a 10 year old. On Wednesday Christy, Shadow and I were all in the car. Christy asked me if I was going shopping on Saturday to buy her birthday presents. I told her "no" as I was planning on going Thursday or Friday when David got home from work. She got upset so I asked her what was wrong. So Christy says to me, aren't you or dad going to take Shadow to buy me a gift and then go back out and buy me presents from you. I don't know what the deal is but our girls seem to think that it is all about how many gifts you receive. I told Christy that no I was not planning on that. She started yelling at me about how two years ago she bought Shadow a gift for her birthday and Shadow has never bought her a gift!! Give me a break! I was frustrated at that point I once again told her that I was not planning on going shopping on Saturday. Needless to say Christy pouted the rest of the way home. David and I discussed this and decided that each birthday the girls will buy a gift for their sister with their own allowance money. So Saturday I took Shadow shopping to buy Christy a gift. Shadow is very generous. We were at Old Navy and Shadow said she wanted to buy Christy a whole outfit. I "helped" her find a cheaper gift for Christy. Shadow was not concerned at all about the money coming from her allowance even though she knows we are headed to Disneyland on Tuesday and she has to buy her own treats. What a sweetheart! For birthday's we let the girls decide the activities for the day. Christy wanted waffles for breakfast, she wanted to play games, go see a movie, go to Chili's for dinner and open presents. We did all these things as well as spend some time at the beach. We had a few rough spots during the day. Christy got a gift certificate for a pedicure, a new church dress, two pairs of flip flops, a cute yellow striped shirt and candy. Sorry there are no pictures from the day other than the beach. I was not in a picture taking mood.

Happy Birthday to Kiki!!! That is very nice of Shadow to want to buy Christy a whole outfit. Little kids are so generous, too bad we don't stay like that forever!
I can't believe she's so big already! I hope she had a great day! She's such a pretty girl!
