Military Moves

This past week I had my first experience with the sadness of a close friend moving due to new orders. The Pacheco family has lived across the street from us the whole time we have lived here in the Serra Mesa housing. They joined the church a year ago and were sealed as a family in April here in the San Diego temple. Joey is in the Marines and has been stationed on MCAS Miramar. Darci has been a really good friend to me. We have spent a lot of time together. She has been like a sister to me. We are both pregnant and have both had some down times but have been there for each other. I felt like I could call her anytime and she would be available to listen. She has two of the greatest kids in the world. Her little boy is three and her daughter is two. They are some of the smartest children and so polite, and so dang cute! I was with their family in the Temple as Joey and Darci took out their endowments and as they were sealed as a family. Right before the earthquake and tsunami Joey received new orders to go to Japan for the next three years. Originally they were scheduled to be in Japan the middle of April but with everything going on over there Joey's orders changed for him to report the first part of June. This past week the Pacheco family left for Japan. I already miss having Darci and her kids here. I know that when we move from San Diego in December that it will be the hardest move that I have had to make. We have a great ward here and I have made some really good friends. Hopefully wherever we end up we will meet good people and have good friends.
